A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a
second by Councilman Langley to approve the additional appropriation. Motion carried 5-0.
Next on the agenda was a discussion of storm water fees. Storm water was a mandate by the
state that says water that leaves our community must leave the same as the water that comes in to
the Town. The fee is $1.50 currently. Councilman Harris wanted to wait and see what impact
the Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion was going to have on the residents. He felt like there
needed to be more information and stated the economy was another problem. Council President
Goodwin gave the amount of money coming in a year in fees as opposed to how much the
budget is set for. Attorney Currens told the council that this was discussed in 2007 when the fee
was put into effect that at some time later the fee was to be raised to $3.00,but was not in the
language of Ordinance 11,the language only said $1.50. He went on to say the justification
might be able to be done in house. A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second
by Councilman Clark to continue a rate study for the storm water. Motion carried 5-0.
Council President Ryan Goodwin announced he had one appointment to make; all the
appointments left are Presidential appointments.
