Council President Goodwin made a <br /> four year democrat re-appointment of Rhonda Clair to the Park Board. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to approve pay <br /> request#11 for $9,770.00 and pay request#12 to release retainage at$44,875.00. These are final <br /> payments and total project cost was $927,798.72. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Salary Ordinance Discussion: Councilman Cook and Councilman Harris wanted to know about <br /> the raise in pay from 11.52 to 13.75 for the Utility part time cleric. Council President Goodwin <br /> stated that with that significant raise in pay a restructuring of her job classification had to be <br /> done possibly in two months. <br /> Ross Holloway, Holloway Engineering, introduced Andrew Greenwood on behalf of <br /> Meadowlake Assoc. on Old Highway 67. Mr. Greenwood wants to go ahead and make <br /> improvements on Old Highway 67 between Meadowlake Drive and the drive to First Merchants <br /> Bank. INDOT allows a minimum of 185 ft. spacing for 30 mph. This would be 291 ft. from first <br /> drive to proposed drive. There is not a proposed development for the lot yet, but wanted to get <br /> the drive taken care of first. Tim Curren said this is currently a county road and last summer <br /> Pete Foley had sent him a letter saying he thought this road would be better served by the Town. <br /> Mr. Currens responded saying this would be looked into but wad ed some changes made to the <br /> road. On December 28t", 2009 Mr. Currens wrote a letter to PetiVoley saying that now changes <br /> are being made to the road the Town would be interested in taking the road in to Town. <br /> Councilman Harris said he knew the Plan Commission had some issues they wanted addressed. <br /> Mr. Holloway said the road would be widened to three lanes with four foot shoulders. A motion <br /> was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to approve the road. <br /> Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Harris with a second by Councilman Clark to approve <br /> George Watkins to the Redevelopment Commission for one year. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Legal: The council acknowledged a conflict of interest from Greg Howard serving on the <br /> Library board. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to approve <br /> amendment to Ordinance 9, 2009 deleting $ .25 for returning part time summer help positions in <br /> Ordinance#3, 2010. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Tim Medsker, Fire Chief, reported 54 total responses the first 18 days of January. Also, with the <br /> remodeling being done to the offices at 26 South Indiana Street,they have ran across more <br /> problems than anticipated such as wiring, plumbing, and acoustic tile. This would cost about <br /> $2500 more dollars than the $5,000 already approved. A motion was made by Councilman <br /> Harris with a second by Councilman Cook to approve an additional $3,000 out of CCD to finish <br /> the remodeling. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Joe Beikman, Street Superintendent, announced the State was getting ready to fix the intersection <br /> and Main and Indiana Streets. Councilman Goodwin said he would talk to Joe about the issue. <br /> Councilman Langley said he wanted to talk with the businesses affected on South Indiana Street <br /> concerning the parking. <br /> Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook made a motion to approve a transfer of <br /> funds of$100,000 from WWTP operating fiend to WWTP improvement fund. Motion carried 5- <br /> 0. <br /> EDC: Morgan County Director Joy Sessing reported to the council she had been meeting with a <br /> lot of people from hospital, school, and TOA, etc. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second from Councilman Clark to approve <br /> payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was made by <br /> Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to adjourn the meeting. Motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br />
