1012 <br /> Council President Watkins reported Enviro Forensics wanted to continue on monitoring <br /> Crest Cleaners. The State had asked them to increase the distance and expand the area a <br /> little bit. There would be three in the alley next to bong Kong and one on the southeast <br /> corner of where Kentucky Fried Chicken used to be. A motion was made by Councilman <br /> Mathis with a second by Councilman Langley to allow the four extra borings subject to <br /> release. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> Other business: The library needs a town appointment to the Library board to replace <br /> Greg Howard who has been there for many years. This position is term limited. The <br /> Library has asked the council to appoint Steve Oschman. Mr. Osclunan has expressed a <br /> desire to be appointed effective January 1, 2012. A motion to approve this appointment <br /> was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Mathis. Motion carried <br /> 3-0. <br /> Legal: A motion was made by Councilman Langley to sign and approve the form of the <br /> easement to Richard and Janice Jones for a sewer line extension on Merriman Road. <br /> Councilman Mathis seconded the motion. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Council members present were: President George Watkins,Vice President Tony <br /> Langley, John L. Clark, Mark Mathis, and Jeff Cook. No members were absent. Town <br /> attorney Tim Currens and Clerk-Treasurer Sandy Perry were also present. <br /> Ron Yates from the Church of God gave the prayer. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Mathis to <br /> approve minutes of October 18, 2011 meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Brent Callahan, Superintendent of Mooresville Park and Recreation District, reported 850 <br /> people at the Halloween Hike. He also requested funding for a bucket truck to replace <br /> the old one that is unsafe to use. Brent had met with Councilman Mathis to look for a <br /> bucket truck and found there were not a lot of good used ones. Councilman Langley <br /> asked what kind of driver's license was needed. The trucks they are looking at are under <br /> the required weight for a CDL license. The Town's insurance company will train on the <br /> operation of the bucket truck. They did get a quote on a new one of$116,000. The <br /> bucket truck is used for park infrastructure, street lights,water slide, and trimming trees. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Clark to <br /> purchase a bucket truck up to $80,000 out of Food and Beverage. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Rosemary Rogers request a street closing for Victorian Christmas on East Main Street to <br /> Clay Street from 8 A. M. to 5 P. M. on December 3, 2011. This is the 23rd year. The <br /> events begin at 10 A. M. A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by <br /> Councilman Clark to approve the request. Motion carried 5-0. <br />
