The lowest quote out of three received was for
a CASE brand at$52,488.00 and included the trade-in. The company knows a seal is
broken. They are taking the trade-in as is. The Park has looked for a used unit. Ted
Everett looked over the summer and couldn't find one. The backhoe is used for logjams,
water and sewer lines, grading, excavating, and snow removal.
A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to approve
using Non Reverting Capital Funds to purchase the backhoe. Motion carried 5-0.
In 1977 an ordinance set the parking and at some point after that a town council member
directed the signs be taken down. This year's Town Council directed the signs be put
back up. A letter was sent to residents of Sunset Manor to attend the meeting for
discussion. Town Council President George Watkins requested the street, fire, and police
departments to put in any information they deemed relevant. Mark Tansel, 71 Sunset
Manor stated he had lived there 17 years and.wasn't made aware of the 19977 ordinance.
He has two vehicles and a single car driveway that makes him or his wife have to move a
car when one or the other wants to leave the house. He doesn't see a problem with
parking on the street. He thought speeding was a bigger issue. He wants to see the
council overturn the ordinance of 1977 on Sunset Manor.
