February 11, 2011 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council and Redevelopment Commission met in Executive <br /> Session on Friday, February 11,2011, at 3:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government <br /> Center to discuss an economic development project. Members present were: Town <br /> Council: Jeff Cook, Mark Mathis, and George Watkins. Redevelopment members <br /> present: Mike Haskins, Harold Gutzwiller, & George Watkins. Town attorney Tim <br /> Currens was present. Ross Holloway, Joy Sessing,Morgan County EDC, and Sandra <br /> Perry were present. <br /> FEBRUARY 18, 2011 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, February 18, 2011, at <br /> 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Town Council members present: President George Watkins,Vice-President Tony <br /> Langley, John L. Clark, Mark Mathis, and Jeff Cook. No members were absent. Town <br /> attorney Tim Curren was present and Clerk-Treasurer Sandy Perry was present. <br /> George Watkins gave the prayer. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Clark to <br /> approve minutes of January 18, 2011. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> First on the agenda were Jerome and Marty Witte. They had called and said they would <br /> not be able to attend. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to <br /> approve pay request#4 from Wilhelm Construction for the wastewater expansion in the <br /> amount of$525,121.40. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Council President Watkins announced the department heads had received the latest copy <br /> of the personnel policy book and the council may take action on this at March 1't <br /> meeting. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to <br /> approve a transfer of funds from operating to improvement in the amount of$200,000. <br /> Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Mathis to <br /> approve end of year computer transfers to balance accounts. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Council President Watkins reported on the county wide fire and EMS. The latest <br /> conversation was that Town of Mooresville would be exempt from the county wide tax, <br /> but not exempt from the county wide EMS tax. He reported that if Mooresville had an <br /> ambulance service the county rate could more than exceed what the Town of Mooresville <br /> could do on our own. <br /> Legal: A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley <br /> to approve resolution#2, 2011 to allow the Town of Mooresville thru the Clerk-Treasurer <br /> to perform investment of public funds with the CEDARS program at Citizen's Bank to <br /> make sure the money is insured thru FDIC. Motion carried 5-0. <br />
