.9-87 <br /> The Town Council gave a directive to Attorney Currens to publish for cemetery mowing <br /> bids. <br /> Council President Watkins gave the town a commendation on a job well done with the <br /> ice storm. One question he had was who is responsible for the sidewalks in front of the <br /> school. He wants clarity,but not suggesting an ordinance because of one complaint. <br /> Street Superintendent, Joe Beik nan, commented his department didn't have a way to de- <br /> ice the sidewalks. The school used to clean off their sidewalks,the one in front of <br /> Newby School. The council will defer to Attorney Currens to do further research. <br /> Department commissioner assignments were given to the council. <br /> Joy McCarthy Sessing reported she would have a report at the March 1,2011 meeting. <br /> She said there were a lot of things happening. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Mathis to <br /> approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was <br /> made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the meeting. <br /> Motion carried 5-0. <br /> The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be on <br /> Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Town Council members present were: President George Watkins,Vice-President Tony <br /> Langley,John L. Clark, and Jeff Cook. Councilman Mark Mathis was absent. Town <br /> attorney Tim Currens was present. Clerk-Treasurer Sandy Perry was present. <br /> Jim Taylor, Grace Church, gave the invocation. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to <br /> approve minutes from February 15, 2011. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> New business: DLZ Engineering,Jeff Dieterling and Laurie Christie. They presented <br /> the services they provide. They are also an architectural firm. Their office is right <br /> downtown near Conseco fieldhouse and employs over 60 employees several of which <br /> live in Mooresville. The company mainly does work for military and municipal. <br /> Council President Watkins stated that last Tuesday was the last round of discussion on <br /> the personnel policy manual. Drafts will be distributed before the next meeting. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Cook to use the invite quote system for Cemetery <br /> mowing quotes and also include at least three quotes. Councilman Clark made the <br /> second. Motion carried 4-0. <br />
