9 <br /> Morgan County Economic Development Director, Joy Sessing, explained to.the council <br /> that an existing manufacturing company wanted to expand and they are working thru a <br /> consultant, Chad Swinney, from GNOVIS. This company wants to purchase industrial <br /> property,but needs the infrastructure of water and sewer. The property is in the Town <br /> limits. This infrastructure will extend to other property owners on the east side of <br /> Highway 67 and assist other development for future growth. The project is called `Red <br /> Bird'. The project consists of$3.5 million in construction of a training facility and <br /> warehouse plus $1.4 million in personal property. George Watkins suggested doing two <br /> core borings under Highway 67 to see what is underneath. This would be helpful to the <br /> bidders. The current property owner will commit$100,000 toward the water line <br /> extension. The company will ask for tax abatement, assistance from Mooresville <br /> Redevelopment, and Morgan County Economic Development Corporation. Councilman <br /> Langley stated the company needed answers from the council and he thought this was an <br /> exciting project. Other council members agreed. A motion was made by Councilman <br /> Langley that the Town Council commits Food and Beverage Tax Funds to provide the <br /> cost of infrastructure per the drawings provided tonight to the Merriman site along with <br /> two (2) soil borings on each side of State Highway 67 to the site subject to the following: <br /> the <br /> e comnutm.�nt of$100,000.00 from the property owner of the Merriman site to be <br /> applied towards the water line improvement and secondly the completion of the sale to <br /> the proposed manufacturer who has dealt with our Morgan County Economic <br /> Development Corporation concerning expansion to this site. Councilman Clark made a <br /> second to the motion. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to <br /> approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was <br /> made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the <br /> meeting. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be March 15, <br /> 2011 at 6:30 P. Attorney Tim Curren <br /> was present. <br /> Jim Taylor, Grace Church, gave the invocation. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to <br /> approve the minutes of March 1, 2011 meeting. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> Kevin O'Farrell,Relg for Life,requested the street department to paint footprints for <br /> June 11'h and June 12 this year,blue and gold colors. A motion was made by <br /> Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to approve. Motion carried 4- <br /> 0. <br />
