(ii) all the doors designed te allow passage into and <br /> within all premises withiu such dwellings are sufficleetly <br /> wide to allow passage by handicapped persons iu <br /> wheelchairs; and <br /> <br />(iii) all premises within such dwellings contain tile <br /> fol]owi.g features of adaptive design: <br /> <br /> (I) an accessible route into and tbrongh tile dwelling; <br /> <br /> (II) light, switches, e]ectrlcal outlets, thermostats, and <br /> other environmental controls iu accessible <br /> loeatlons; <br /> <br />(III) relnforcemeuts tn bathroom walls to allow later <br /> installatioe of grab bars; and <br /> <br /> (IV) usable kitchens and bathrooms such that an <br /> individual, in a wheelchair can maneuver about the space. <br /> <br /> (4) Co,pliance with the appropriate tequirements Americans With <br />I)isabilJties Acl o[ 1990 a.d of the American Natioual Standard for- buildings and <br />facilities providing accessibility a.d usability for physically handicapped <br />people (commouly cited as "ANSI AllT.l") suffices to satisfy the requirements of <br />paragraph (3)(C)(iii). <br /> <br /> (5) Netbing iu tbls subsection requires that a dwelling be made .available <br />to an Individual whose teuancy would constitute a direct threat to th~ health or <br />safety of other individuals of whose tenancy would result in substantial <br />physical damage to the property of others. <br /> <br />Sectio. 5. D[SCRIMiNATi'ON IN RESIDENTIAL ILEAL ESTATE-RELATED TRANSACTIONS: <br /> <br /> (a) It shall be unlawfnl for any person or other entity WllOSe business <br />includes engaging in residential rea] estate-related tral,sactious to <br /> <br />sex, ha.dicap, familial status~ or national erlgin. <br /> <br /> (b) As used in tbls sectlou, the term "residential real estate-relatod <br />transaction, means any of the following: <br /> <br /> (1) The making or* pnrchasing of loans or providing other fluancial <br /> <br /> maintaining a dwelling; or <br />(B) secured by resideotial teal estate. <br /> <br />U r <br /> <br /> (2) 'file selliug, brokering, or appraising of residential real property. <br /> (c) Nothing in this ordiuance prohibits a person engaged in the busiuess of <br />furuishlug appraisals of real property to take into couslderation factors other <br />thaw race~ color, religioe, national origin, sex, handicap, or familial status. <br /> <br /> <br />
