<br />IW" <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />,-/-/7'%7 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br />RECREATION FOR THE TOHN OF MOORESVILLE, INDIANA <br /> <br />SECTION I. REPEAL OF PRIOR ORDINANCES. By the enactment of this ordinance, <br /> <br />any prior ordinances creating a separate park or recreation authority are hereby <br /> <br />repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION II. DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION. Under the provisions of <br /> <br />Indiana Code 36-10-3-1 et seq., there is hereby established a department of parks <br /> <br />and recreations consisting of a park and recreation board, a superintendent, and <br /> <br />other personnel as that board determines. <br /> <br />SECTION III. BOARD OF PARKS AND RECREATION MEMBERSHIP. The Board shall <br /> <br />be composed of five (5) members with two (2) additional ex-officio members said <br /> <br />members being appointed as follows: <br /> <br />a. Four (4) members to be appointed by the executive of the Civil <br /> <br />Town of Mooresville, namely the president of the Board of Trustees. <br /> <br />These members shall be appointed on the basis of their interest in <br /> <br />and knowledge of parks and recreation, but no more than two (2) <br /> <br />members may be affiliated with the same political party. <br /> <br />b. The two (2) ex-officio members shall be appointed as follows: <br /> <br />1. A member of the governing body of the Mooresville <br /> <br />Consolidated School Corporation to be selected by that <br /> <br />body for a term of office of one (1) year from the date <br /> <br />of appointment, and <br /> <br />2. A member of the governing body of the Mooresville Library <br /> <br />Board district with that member to be selected by the Library <br /> <br />Board of the district for a period of one (1) year with that <br /> <br />term expiring one (1) year from date of appointment, and <br /> <br />c. One member from the unincorporated are of Brown Township <br /> <br />with said member to be appointed by the Circuit Court Judge of <br /> <br />Morgan County based upon the same qualifications and for the <br /> <br />same term as other regular members and said member shall have <br /> <br />the same powers and duties. In the event there is an additional <br /> <br />unincorporated area approved and added to the park district then <br /> <br /> <br />the Circuit Court Judge shall make the selection of members so <br /> <br />\ <br />
