Steve Fitzpatrick asked if lie thought a program as important as personnel evaluations and all that <br /> ( goes with it is something that the police commission should know about. Captain Allen referred <br /> him back to the Chief to answer that. Steve Fitzpatrick then asked Captain Allen his answer <br /> because he is currently the acting police chief. Captain Allen agreed that it would be pertinent for !I <br /> the police commission to know. Steve Fitzpatrick stated that agreed with that and that when he <br /> found out about it he was offended and thinks it is improper. Steve Fitzpatrick stated that is was <br /> professionally requested that we be brought up to speed on things going on in the police <br /> department. Steve Fitzpatrick stated that he feels that is a very important issue because officer, <br /> civilian, sworn and everybody,their careers have an impact by an evaluation. Steve Fitzpatrick <br /> stated that he was offended when he found out the next day that this had been put into effect and <br /> it was not brought to our attention. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick made a motion that the current evaluation system be terminated. Sue Kays <br /> seconded. There was no discussion. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick also directed the Chief of Police to have a rough draft SOP at the next meeting <br /> regarding evaluations. Steve Fitzpatrick wants it to be thoroughly researched,thought out and <br /> fair. Steve Fitzpatrick would like for it to come to all three of them to be reviewed and amended <br /> by the commission. Steve Fitzpatrick would like them to all be relayed to the Chief. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick made a motion that a rough draft of an evaluation SOP be presented by the <br /> Chief or his delegate at the next meeting. Sue Kays seconded the motion. There was no <br /> discussion. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick requested that all department wide emails be sent to the police commissioners. <br /> Sue Kays agreed but would like to check with Larry to see if he wanted to be included at the next <br /> meeting. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick also asked that the minutes of the meeting be more detailed and he had already <br /> spoken with Amanda regarding this request. Steve Fitzpatrick also would like to let everyone <br /> know that the audio file was found from the September 2013 meeting and everyone has a copy. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick also stated that there should not be a lengthy time delay in having a meeting. is <br /> The last meeting was in September before the February meeting. Steve Fitzpatrick stated that he <br /> would speak to Larry Bryant about it. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick asked Amanda if it is possible to email the commissioners a copy of the audio <br /> files as soon as the meeting is over. Amanda stated that she would have to ask the Chief but since <br /> the audio files are so large it is hard to email them. Amanda stated that if it is a 20 minute <br /> meeting then yes but an hour meeting no. Steve Fitzpatrick asked Amanda to check into that. <br /> 1,1 <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick made a motion that an awards program SOP be presented to the police <br /> commission at the next meeting. Steve Fitzpatrick requested that the list be very thorough,well <br /> thought out and that the requests for the awards go before the police commission and they would <br /> decide who would get the award. Steve Fitzpatrick requested that it be any member of the police <br /> ( department, civilians to sword officers. Steve Fitzpatrick also requested that any member of the 1 <br />
