The motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick also requested that the Chief of Police and/or Captain provide an organizational <br /> chart with a list of each position responsibilities. Steve Fitzpatrick requested that it be very <br /> detailed and show the flow of the chain of command. Captain Allen explained that the <br /> organizational chart is covered by SOP. Steve Fitzpatrick requested that it be reviewed and <br /> updated before the next meeting. Sue Kays wanted to know which level was responsible for. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick wanted to know what all of their responsibilies were for each officer. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick also requested an executive session for March 20, 2014 at 5:00 PM to discuss a <br /> personnel issue. Steve Fitzpatrick requested that Chief Viles and Captain Allen be at this <br /> meeting. Steve Fitzpatrick asked why Captain Allen has not been at the meeting and Captain <br /> Allen responded that he had not been told to attend. Steve Fitzpatrick felt that it was important <br /> for the Captain Allen to be there. Sandy Perry stated that she would post the executive meeting. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick also requested that the Chief of Police provide details on how a new police <br /> vehicle is issued. Steve Fitzpatrick stated that is was never brought to the attention of the police <br /> commission and they never approved the request. Steve Fitzpatrick is requesting to know if it is a <br /> fair process and details on the Chief of Police's thought process. Captain Allen explained that <br /> five cars will be delivered in March; it is the Chief s decision on who gets the cars. Captain <br /> Allen explained that he looks at the year of the car,mileage, shape of the car. Captain Allen <br /> stated that a new officer will not get a new car until he has completed his probationary year. <br /> Captain Allen stated that currently the new cars are going to Forbes, Rogers,Enkhorn, Cook and <br /> Anderson. Steve Fitzpatrick wanted to know if there was set policy and Captain Allen stated no, <br /> it was the Chief's decision. Steve Fitzpatrick stated that it could be in email form and asked Sue <br /> Kays if it was ok and she stated yes. George Watkins stated that he thought it was two separate <br /> issues that they were asking for,the first being how a new car gets issued and the seconded being <br /> on how an older car gets reissued or taken out of the fleet. Lt.Mark Harris also advised the <br /> police commission that it is a fair process and that in the past the cars were rotated out every <br /> three years however due to budget issues we are now on a different rotation. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick also requested a copy of the current police budget to be presented at the next <br /> meeting. Steve Fitzpatrick stated that he wanted to be more aware of the budget and where the <br /> money is going. Steve Fitzpatrick stated that he doesn't want to do the job of the Town Board or <br /> the Chief of Police. Town Attorney Tim Currens stated that it would benefit the police <br /> commission to have a better understanding of where the money is going,the budgetary confines <br /> and it will assist in the police commission in doing their job. Sue Kays made a motion to see the <br /> budget. Steve Fitzpatrick seconded. No discussion. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick also requested a comprehensive report on where the police department stands <br /> on centralized dispatch. Steve Fitzpatrick wanted a list of pros and cons, do we support the issue, <br /> why or why not. Steve Fitzpatrick wants it to be very detailed and wants it by the next meeting. <br />
