Jtuue 30, 1975 te The Zoning Boar~ of Appeals Mooresville, Indiana 46158 Please note that I am not registering a protest against Mr. Lan4on's request for a variance to set up a one man real estate office in his home. He tol4 me of his plan an~ I told him if it was a variance, which would automatically be cancelle~ with sale of property, I have no objection. However, I woul~ like the Board to note the following things: There is a parking problem on Morgan an~ Carter Streets. Mr. Lan4on has only enough apace for two cars off the street, an~ if he has company plus a roomer's car, this means on the street parking. I do not own a car, but from time to time people come to see me an~ when they help me shop it is nice to park near the door to unload groceries. I painte~ a yellow line on ~¥ walk opposite Mr. Landon's ~brive to eLiscourage parking so he would have space to back out. The Town Boar~ scolded me and said I had no right to paint a yellow line. I cannot park next to my house on C~rter because there is a no parking at any time on my side the street. As our zoning ordinance now stands I could sell one of my lots and there coul~ be four or five more cars on the street. Therefore, I strongly recommend that the ordinance be changed to require at least three or perhaps four off the street parking spaces~ for each ~welling unit. And that all future ~evelopments (the ordinance which hasn't been complete~ ye%)r~efuire all streets to be at least 50 feet wi~e. Please note that Indiana Street is beiug widene4 at considerable expense, and that we have several areas where one si4e of the street parking is require~ and people are unhappy about it.
