---

Tim Currens advised that part of the thought process behind the business

and industrial uses off of state road 67 were based upon the transportation

needs of business and keeping this traffic out of town along with the

rail availability that paralleled portions of 67 south of town.

The board then proceeded to a discussion since no additional

comments were presented by the public.

Bob Tucker started the discussion

concerning the Bethel Road area discussed by Mr. Robinson.

He suggested

having the open space track the flood plain area and to leave the area

above the flood plain residential the same as across the road. He felt

the open space would be sufficient buffering from the proposed 1-

Industrial use which the ordinance would require.

Signe Nicholson

suggested the R-Residential use on both sides of Bethel Road and the

agricultural use as a buffer with a reduction in the I-Industrial use.

Bill Abbott then moved to make the change on state road 42 at Bethel

',- Road and make R-Residential use in the area directly across the road

that was not in the flood plain and to leave the balance of the area

the same. This was seconded by Joel Beebe and there being no further

discussion passed by a vote of 6 in favor and 0 against.

Mr. Gaddis then addressed the floor again concerning the flood

plain area south of state road 67 at the fork of White Lick Creek.

He suggested that the area designated open space be changed to R-Resi-

dential or I-Industrial.

Signe Nicholson questioned whether or not

there was access to the ground except through the flood plain. Mr.

Gaddis said no. Bob Tucker moved to change the area south of Park

Drive and near the creek to an R-Residential use, but only the ground
which was shown as being above the flood plain on the most recent
federal U.S.G.F. maps on file at the Town Hall. This was seconded by

'---

-6-
