Shirley Welker.

The board discussed this matter and Bill Abbott

'---

questioned whether or not he felt this was proper zoning.

Steve

Edwards questioned whether or not this was proper zoning due to a

lack of access during the time the water is high in the flood plain

area. Dwayne Gaddis suggested that a developer would have to provide

access the same as other business areas. The vote was 3 in favor and

2 opposed, this not being a quorum the item was not passed.

Bob Tucker then suggested that on page 2l of the Comprehensive

Plan the word elevation be added under policy 2 to determine accessibility.

This was seconded by Steve Edwards and the vote was 6 in favor and 0

opposed.

The board then discussed the South Street area. Robert Tucker

advised that he could understand Mr. Adams concern about this area

since it is currently residential and there are some nice homes there.

'- He further stated that there was no particular need or reason to bring

the business use to South Street. Steve Edwards agreed and stated

that there were residential uses to be protected. Steve Edwards then

moved to change the comprehensive zoning map to reflect residential

uses on both sides of South Street. This was seconded by Joel Beebe.

The vote was 6 in favor and 0 opposed.

The next item concerned the Field's property south of Marleywood

subdivision. Signe Nicholson stated she had mixed feelings about this

area but felt that since it adjoined a highway it was conducive to a

business use and a higher density of residential use both of which would

not be anymore acceptable to the Marleywood Addition Homeowners. She

stated that it was not the intent of the plan to deminish any existing

uses and this certainly concerned her, however, since it adjoins state

'-

-7-
