<br />r <br />f <br /> <br />,;- '-' <br /> <br />indicated that if progress was being made, he did not see why the <br /> <br />board would not grant an additional thirty day continuance if <br /> <br />needed. <br /> <br />He therefore moved to grant the property owner a thirty <br /> <br />day continuance. <br /> <br />The motion was seconded by Tilford Bailey and <br /> <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Bill Abbott indicated he had one other item not listed on the <br /> <br />agenda under new business which was the mobile home located on <br /> <br />State Road 267. <br /> <br />Inspector Beikman advised that the owners were <br /> <br />taking it out since they could not obtain water. <br /> <br />The board then proceeded to old business and the first item <br /> <br />on that agenda was the Lowry property located at One West Main <br /> <br />Street. <br /> <br />Inspector Beikman advised that the property was in the <br /> <br />exact same condition as it has been with no work being performed. <br /> <br />Robert Tucker inquired as to whether the roof had been completed. <br /> <br />Inspector Beikman responded in the negative and advised that the <br /> <br />decking had been installed three months ago with no other work <br /> <br />performed since then. <br /> <br />Bill Abbott inquired as to what steps could <br /> <br />be taken next. <br /> <br />Inspector Beikman advised that there were several <br /> <br />options and further advised that the Lowrys have been notified of <br /> <br />tonights meeting. <br /> <br />He first indicated that the original order of <br /> <br />the board directed the Lowrys to repair the building or to have it <br /> <br />removed. <br /> <br />He felt that the town did not want to get into the <br /> <br />business of removing property and felt that, therefore, this was <br /> <br />not a viable alternative. <br /> <br />Second, he advised that the ordinance <br /> <br />allowed the board to impose a fine for each day the building is in <br /> <br />violation and that this would be his recommendation. <br /> <br />He reminded <br /> <br />the board that the first contact with the Lowrys regarding the <br /> <br />-3- <br />
