'--

'-'

'--

-3-

be one shift of 10 to 15 employees initially and that the products would be hauled

in and out on semi-tractors and trailers. Wendell Thaler asked how much ground

would be needed for the work and Mr. Cunningham estimated 5 acres plus some growth

area. He also stated that the 5 acres was needed because of the outside storage.

Dave Loudermilk then addressed the Board stating that the building would be

located above the 100 year flood level.

Wendell Thaler then opened up the meeting to comments from the floor. The

first remonstrator to speak was Donald Kouns of the Mooresville Park Board. He

advised that the park property adjoined this area and had 3 concerns: I) access

2) how secure the area would be from park traffic and 3) drainage into the soccer

field. Mr. Cunningham advised that they would want a fence as a buffer between the

park arid their property and would agree to co-operate with the park on any type of

fence that they felt would be adequate and not an eyesore. He advised that he did

not want children in his property playing for the fear of them getting injured and

that he understands the park's concern regarding this. As to drainage, he felt that

this could be properly worked out and he was not sure of the nature of the problems

which might exist currently.

John Joyner was the next party to speak. He stated that the land does flood

in this area and that he has farmed it before and knows how high the water level

can get. Dave Loudermilk responded to this and showed the proposed location and

also advised that if necessary they would bring additional dirt up to make sure the

property is above the 675 foot level to make it feasible to build and out of the

flood plain. Mr. Joyner's other concerns regarded traffic. In particular he

wanted to make sure traffic was off Old State Road 67 and not Indianapolis Road.

He also had questions regardtng noise, dust and dirt. Mr. Cunningham advised that

the road area would be paved and there would not be a lot of dust and the noise level

would be no more than that created by the trucks coming in and out. He also advised

that similar type trucks came in and out of Nice-Pak which was adjoining this
