481 <br /> <br /> May 2, 2000 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Town Council met on Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville <br />Town Hall. <br /> <br />Council members present were: President Mark Mathis, Toby Dolen, Tom Warthen, and John L. <br />Clark. Andy Pygman was absent. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Dolen to approve minutes of <br />April 18, 2000 meeting. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> <br />Public Hearing meeting for Riverside Stone tax abatement. Motion was made by Councilman <br />Dolen, second by Councihnan Warthen to approve a three year real property abatement and a <br />five year personal property abatement. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Les Farmer gave a report to the council on early warning system quotes. He reported <br />they had received two bids, but only one bid met the requirements. This was t¥om Federal <br />Signal: Quote with options was $101,779.00 for seven sirens. The Town of Mooresville's <br />portion for four sirens would be $58,159.43 plus approximately another $2,000 to $2,500 for a <br />radio and antenna for the transmitter. President Mathis requested from the council permission to <br />begin on the town's four sirens. Motion was made by Councihnan Dolen, second by <br />Councilman Clark to approve quote and going ahead with installation of the town's four sirens. <br />Motion carried 4-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve a rezone from <br />B-3 to I-1 for Weliever Chevrolet located at 311 East Main Street. Motion carried 3-0 with one <br />abstention. President Mathis abstained. <br /> <br />Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported eighteen (18) calls, eight (8) impounds and five <br />(5) returned. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Warthen, second by Councilman Dolcn to approve payment of <br /> claims. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the council at this time motion was made by <br /> Councilman Dolen, second by Councihnan Clark to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br /> The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at <br /> 6:30 P.
