483" <br /> <br /> June 6,2000 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Town Council met on Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at 6:30 P. M. at thc Mooresville <br />Town Hall. <br /> <br />Council members present were: President Mark Mathis, Toby Dolen, John L. Clark, Tom <br />Warthen, and Andy Pygman. No members were absent. Rod Bray represented Legal Counsel. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councihnan Dolen to approve ~ninutes of <br />May 16, 2000 meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />EDC Director Harold Gutzwiler presented a request for Tax Abatelncnt for TOA Industries. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Dolen to approve Preliminary <br />Resolution #4, 2000 for designation of Economic Revitalization Area for TOA Industries and set <br />a Public Hearing Date for June 20th, 2000, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. Motion <br />carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Nancy Berwick, Charles Berwick, Nancy Cramer, and Dee Haltom expressed to thc Council <br />their concern about empty spaces where trees were cut down in town owned strips. They <br />requested the Council to consider a tree replacement program. Their idea is called "Celebrate <br />Life", a program in which a tree would celebrate or honor a special person or event; <br />anniversaries, births, or in memory of a loved one. Each presentor would pay one-half the cost <br />of a tree and the Town of Mooresville one-half the cost. The cost of hardwood shade trees <br />would range between $50 and $100. Each participant would be given a certificate that would <br />include the date, name of honored person, and name of presentor. President Mathis <br />volunteered to work with Mrs. Berwick and in a ~nonth will come back to the Council with a <br />plan. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Warthen, second by Councilman Clark to approve availability <br /> fees for Riverside Stone in the following amount: Connection fee: $1,650.00 <br /> Availibility fee: $1,350.00 <br /> Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman Dolen to deny closing <br /> downtown streets for Founder's Day Celebration. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Ross Holloway of Holloway and Assoc. presented a request for rezone for William Parks <br /> property on the comer of Highway 67 and Highway 144 from a B-2 to a PUD-C. Main purpose <br /> for the request is to allow flexibility in lot size so as to be more marketable. This request tabled <br /> to June 20, 2000 meeting. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Dolen to approve a request for <br /> reimbursement from the Developer Availability Fund to Flagstaff Associates, LLC in the amount <br /> of $58,427.25. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve Deed of <br /> Dedication for Grandview Sections 4 and 5. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve Transfer of <br /> Funds from General and MVH budgets to Self Funded Health Insurance Fund. Motion carded 5- <br /> 0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve $12,000 from <br /> Food and Beverage to complete the electrical work at the Park. Motion carried 4-1. Councilman <br /> Pygman opposed. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve Ordinance #8, <br /> 2000, rezoning Conduitt-Fields property on the corner of Bridge Street and Highway 67 to PUD- <br /> C. Motion carried 4-0. President Mathis abstained. <br /> <br /> <br />
