476 <br /> <br /> Next ,,vas the Cemetery mowing bids. There were two bids submitted. One frown American <br /> Lawn Care for $525.00 per cutting and $60.00 per cutting on the additional 6 acres. Second <br /> from Sharp Lawn Service for $550.00 per cutting and $150.00 per cutting on the additional 6 <br /> acres. After some discussion the council decided to go with the lowest bid. Motion was made <br /> <br /> by Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman Dolen, to accept the bid from American Lawn <br /> Care for $550 00 per cutting and $60 00 Per cutting" for additional six acres. Motion carried 4-1 <br /> with counSc~ni~ Clark voting against <br /> <br /> Mr. Brent Callahan, Park Superintendent, reported on the new restrooms lbr the park. /he new <br /> cost for this project will be $55,000.00. They now have in writing two firm confirmation on <br /> funding of the project. The Mooresviile Optimist Club will give $15,000.00 and the Komets <br /> Soccer Club will give $3,000.00. The Park and Recreation District will give $20,00.00 from <br /> their non-reverting funds, leaving $17,000.00 to be funded. They are requesting from the <br /> Town's Food and Beverage Fund for the sum of $17,000.00 to complete this project. Motion <br /> was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve $17,000.00 from Food <br /> and Beverage Fund to construct restrooms at Mooresville Park. Motion carried 4-1 with <br /> Councilman Pygman voting against. <br /> <br /> Public hearing will need to be held at next meeting to take $20,000.00 out of Park non-reverting <br /> fund for purpose of construction new restrooms. Motion was made by Councilman Dolen <br /> ,second by Councilman Clark, to have public hearing on March 2 I, 2000 to allow Mooresvillc <br /> Park District to transfer $20,000.00 from non-reverting fund to construct rcstrooms. Motion <br /> carries 5-0. <br /> <br /> Next was Wooly Lumber rezone from R-1 to I-2. The rezone is for two lots on South Street <br /> owned by Wooly Lumber now zoned R-1. They are asking that the lots be rezoned to I-2 for the <br /> purpose of storing raw materials, there would be no manufacturing process on the two lots. They <br /> will install trees along South St. and across the east end of lots as a buffer. Motion was made by <br /> Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark, to approve the rezone for Wooley Lumber for <br /> two lots on South Street from R-1 to I-2. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Next was the Universal Valuation for all the to~vn property. ]'his is done to make sure we are <br /> carrying enough insurance on the property. Motion was made by Councilman Clark <br /> Councilman Pygman, to have Universal Valuation Consultants, Inc. do the appraisal on all town <br /> property. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Next was the additional appropriation for the Mooresville Police Department. They had an <br /> insurance reimbursement of $8,545.00, for the car the that was wrecked, had to go back into the <br /> general fund. They would like to reappropriate the $8,545.00 to be used for paying off their car <br /> leases early. Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark, to approve <br /> the additional appropriation of $8,545.00 from the General Fund to the Mooresville Police <br /> Department Fund 01-01-372, Police Vehicle Lease. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported thirty (30) calls, ten (10) impounds, and six (6) <br /> returned. <br /> <br /> Councilman Warthen reported on the Census updates. He said that Mr. Gutzwiller had brought <br /> the ribbons and would like to remind the press about the essay and poster contest that were going <br /> on at the elementary and high school level. They would like to remind everyone of the Census <br /> as we are getting close to that time. <br /> <br /> Under new business for next meeting, March 21, 2000, Mr. Clark would like to discuss taking <br /> the speed limit from 30MPH to 20MPH in the subdivision. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Pygman, to approve payment of <br /> the claims. Motion carried. 5-0 <br /> <br /> The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at <br /> 6:30P.M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> <br />
