M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Town Council members present were: President Tom Warthen, Andy Pygman, <br /> John L. Clark, Toby Dolen, and Mark Mathis. No members were absent. Town <br /> attorney Tim Currens was present. Keith Koteskey from Community Church of <br /> Mooresville gave the prayer. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, seGond by John L~ Clark to approve the <br /> minutes of the 2-17 and 2-20 2001 meetings. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Dennis Knierm, Police Commissioner, gave out copies of the job description <br /> for civilian.part-time clerk.: The grant they received is called "COPS MORE <br /> 2000" to pay.75% of yearly salary ($22,000.00), ~benefits included. The <br /> police budget would have to pick up approximately $5,000.00. They plan to <br /> cross train with dispatch. This clerk would also do police reports and <br /> burglar alarms. President Warthen reminded the council this would make a <br /> 2.3 to 2.8% increase in police budget for 2002 before anything else was even <br /> added. The grant requires the Town of Mooresville Police Department to keep <br /> the employee for one year after the grant was finished. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br /> hiring of civiliam part time clerk f~om grant. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Judge Sterrett reminded everyone that narrative from police officers should be <br /> typed exactly as on recording. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br />the Mooresville Baseball League parade subject to routes being worked out <br />with Joe Beikman, Tim Viles, and Les Farmer. No Candy. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Pygman to rezone <br />property on South Indiana Street owned by Sam Carlisle from B-2 to R-1 <br />Ordinance #3, 2001. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Cemetery bids: Only one bid received. This bid was from American Lawncare <br />for a three year contract. 2 town cemeteries: $540.00 per cutting <br /> extra field: $110.00 per cutting. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Clark to approve <br />this bid.
