March 2, 1993 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was held <br /> Tuesday, March 2, 1993 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Dick Heald, Pat Overholser, Steve <br /> Edwards and Steve Ballard. Councilman Tim Viles was absent. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Dave Rihm of the Knights of Columbus appeared before the <br /> Council to request a roadblock for the K of C Tootsie Roll Drive <br /> for May 1, 1993. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilman <br /> Edwards to allow the Knights of Columbus a roadblock for May 1, 1993. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Town attorney Tim Currens advised the Council that Independent <br /> Appraisals will be updating the appraisals on Town owned buildings. <br /> Mr. Currens also, advised the Council that this company would like to <br /> reappraise all town buildings next year. Councilman Edwards asked <br /> Mr. Currens to inquire of Independent Appraisals why this would be <br /> necessary in view of the fact that they update the appraisals on a <br /> yearly basis. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to post a blind pedestrian sign on Carter Street and Morgan <br /> Street for blind resident Ms. Becky Hardin at the request of Ms. Alice <br /> Wright. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported he had seven (7) <br /> calls, two (2) animals were impounded. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser, second by Councilman <br /> Heald to approve the contract for dispatch service with Brooklyn <br /> Volunteer Fire Department. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilman <br /> Edwards to pay the bills and claims. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council at <br /> this time, motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Edwards, second <br /> by Councilman Heald. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council <br /> will be held Tuesday, March 16 1993 at 7:30 p.m at the Mooresville <br /> Town Hall.
