209 <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Ballard, second by Councilman <br />Edwards to approve an Economic Development Plan; and to approve <br />the lease purchase of the fire apparatus previously bid and awarded <br />in the amount of $541,332.85 or a total of $578,012.23 in payments <br />pursuant to the two year lease purchase with payments from the <br />Economic Development Income Tax. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Animal Control officer Mark Taylor reported he had fourteen (14) <br />calls and one (1) animal impounded. <br /> <br /> Clerk-Treasurer Ann Whaley informed the Council of a situation <br />which occurred in regard to school crossing guards. Due to an <br />emergency, one of the school crossing guard locations was left <br />unattended, after some confusion a substitute was found. The <br />Clerk-Treasurer asked the Council to clarify the responsibility <br />of replacing a school crossing guard in an emergency. Town attorney <br />Tim Currens will send a letter to the school in regard to this matter. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by Councilman <br />Edwards to approve the bills and claims.
