Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Viles, second by Councilman <br /> Wright to extend the Comcast Cable Franchise Contract for thirty <br /> days to give the Council time to review the new contract. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser, second by <br /> Councilman Wright to approve the Certificate of Completion <br /> for Triad Construction of the Chlorination-Dechlorination Project <br /> at the wastewater treatment plant. <br /> <br /> Town Attorney Tim Currens advised the Council that <br /> Independent Appraisals have submitted a contract to re-appraise <br /> all the town buildings. The Council will investigate other <br /> appraisal companies for more competitive pricing. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Forrester, Principal at Newby Elementary School, <br /> submitted a letter to the Council requesting Memorial Drive <br /> become one way from Monroe Street to West Street, Monday through <br /> Friday, from 8:15 a.m. to 8:40 a.m., 11:10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. <br /> and 2:45 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. Council President Heald appointed <br /> Tim Viles and Joe Beikman to a committee to study the traffic <br /> problem on Monroe Street at the above noted times and develop <br /> a solution to this problem. The committee will submit their <br /> recommendation at the next Council meeting. <br /> <br /> Police Chief Tim Viles reported he has promoted Jim Bolin <br /> to Sergeant as of January 29, 1995. Chief Viles requested an <br /> executive session for February 20, 1995 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss <br /> police department personnel. <br /> <br /> <br />
