250 <br /> <br /> The executive session adjourned at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> President ~ <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br /> erk-Treasurer ~ <br /> <br /> February 20, 1995 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session Monday, <br /> February 20, 1995 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Pat Overholser, William Wright, <br /> Andy Pygman, Dick Heald and Tim Viles. No members were absent. <br /> <br /> Mr. Phil Smith, representing Woods Industries, Inc. appeared <br /> before the Council requesting a tax abatement for Woods Industries, <br /> Inc. for six years on real property and five years on new <br /> manufacturing equipment. <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Redevelopment Commission approved Resolution <br /> 1-1995 A Resolution approving the application for a tax abatement <br /> in an economic revitalization area that is also located in an <br /> economic development area for Woods Industries, Inc. This <br /> resolution was approved February 15, 1995 by a unanimous vote of <br /> the Mooresville Redevelopment Commission. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser, second by <br /> Councilman Pygman confirming that Woods Industries meets all <br /> criteria for a tax abatement. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to grant the requested tax abatement for Woods <br /> Industries, Inc. for six years on real property and five years <br /> on new manufacturing equipment. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Woods Industries, Inc. appeared before the Council requesting <br /> permission to access the Town's sewer system for the proposed <br /> facility Woods Industries will construct on South State Road 67, <br /> and to have the Council establish the availability fee for this <br /> facility. <br /> <br /> Sewer Collection Superintendent Joe Beikman advised the <br /> Council that according to the Town's sewer availability ordinance <br /> this facility would be assessed an availability fee based on <br /> the number of people employed. Woods Industries, Inc. has certified <br /> to the Town they will employ forty-two employees in the first <br /> phase of this project. In reviewing water usage of like <br /> facilities, as stipulated in the ordinance, Mr. Beikman has <br /> determined this facility should be assessed .1 E.D.U. <br /> (equivalent dwelling unit) per employee, or $8,400.00. <br /> Fifty percent of this fee will be payable prior to final plat <br /> approval and fifty percent payable prior to the issuance of a <br /> building permit for this project. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser, second by Council- <br /> man Wright to set the sewer availability fee for Woods Industries, Inc. <br /> proposed facility on south State Road 67 at $8,400.00. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
