Mary Jane Cheeseman appeared before thc Council concerning a sprhflder system installation in <br /> the Downtow~x Park area. Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councihnan <br /> Wright to approve the request to have a sprhdder system installed in the Downtown Park Area at <br /> no cost to the Town of Mooresville subject to proof of insm'ance certificate and proper bonding by <br /> the installers. The Park is ~naintained by the Garden Club. Motion canied 5-0. <br /> <br /> The Michael Wolfe property rezone was before the Council next. This property is located at <br /> Reeker and DayhulTroads. The rezone request is frotn Agriculture to R1A. The Plan <br /> Commission had rcco~mneded the approval of the rezone to the Town Council. Motion was made <br /> by Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman Wright to rezone the property from Agriculture to <br /> R1A. Motion carried 4-1. Councilman ttensley opposed. <br /> <br /> Next was a request by Valley View Development to relocate a sewer easement. The Kroger Store <br /> will be expanding and the easement will be under the new store if not relocated. This will be no <br /> expense to the Town of Mooresville. Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by <br /> · Councilman Wright to grant the request to change the existing sewer casement at Valley View <br /> Development. Motion carded 5-0. <br /> <br /> Councilman Pygman stated he had been approached by Hosten Bible, owner of the property next <br /> to the Town Hall pm'king lot, asking ff the Town would go in halves toward fire purchase and <br /> installation of a privacy fence between the two properties. Motion was made by Councilanan <br /> Dolen, second by Councihnan Wright to pay one-half the cost of a privacy fence. Motion carried <br /> 3-2. Councihnan Maflfis and Councihnan I Iensley opposed. <br /> <br /> Tim Currens, town attorney, presented the Land Acquisition and Deed from the State of Indiana <br /> for the property located on St. Rd. 144. The State of Indiana is widening the Highway in that <br /> area. We have a sewer easement crossing that portion of the property, but Street Superintendent <br /> Joe Beikman does not see a problem with this concern. Motion was made by Councilman Wright, <br /> second by Councilman Dolen to approve the Land Aquisition and Deed from the State of Indiana <br /> for the property located on State Road 144 for the price of $16,250.00. The motion carded 4-1. <br /> Councilman Andy Pygman abstaining. <br /> <br /> Motion was made for a Deed of Dedication for the hffrastructure from Reeker Run, Section 4 by <br /> Councilman Dolen, second by Councihnan Wright. Motion can/ed 5-0. <br /> <br /> Fire Clfief Les Framer hffonned the Council the Fire Safety House was now scheduled to arrive <br /> on Friday, June 13, 1997. He also informed the Council he has received fltree (3) applications <br /> fi'om witlfin the Department for the Assistant Fire Clfief position. <br /> <br /> Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported twenty-four (24) calls, tltree (3) impounded, and <br /> zero (0) returned. <br /> <br /> Town Council President Matlfis presented a letter to the Council from Umbaugh and Associates <br /> stating the Town of Mooresville has not had a survey and review of the Town's sewer rates in a <br />· long thne. The last increase of the sewer rates was in 1984, although a survey has been done since <br /> then. Motion was made by Councihnan Hensley, second by Councihnan Wright to authorize <br /> Umbaugh and Associates to survey the sewer rates. The cost is estimated at $6,300 to $7,500. <br /> Motion carded 5-0. <br /> <br /> Councilman Hensley reconunended a cmmnittce be appointed to investigate the Health Insurance <br /> premiums and rates. Councilman Pygman will work on the committee with Councilman Hensley. <br /> <br /> President Matltis recommended tire July 1, 1997 meeting be changed to July 8, 1997. The <br /> Council members agreed. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councihnan Dolen, second by Com~cilman Itensley to approve the payment <br /> of the bills except for the Park bill to Atnoco.
