392 <br /> <br /> There was a question as to the 20 MPH signs on Mom'o¢ Street in front of Newby School saying <br /> while children were present, some Council members thought the Ordinance said 24 hours a day. <br /> To be in compliance with the State Statute the Ordinance cannot state 24 hours a day. Attorney <br /> Currens will reread the State Statute to see if a specific time period can be put on the sign. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Counci.hnan Pygman, second by Counci. hnan Wright to approve a request <br /> for a letter showing verification the Town of Moorcsvillc had looked at the plans fi'om Chaffee & <br /> Associates fca' the Brookanore Sewer Project--the letter states the Town intends to follow what <br /> was outlined in the Plan. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> EDC Director Harold Gutz~viller announced nine (9) more signatures on easements to go out of <br /> one hundred twenty-fn,'e (125). He told the Council they were invited to a tour of the Woods <br /> Wire facility. The press will be notified when this tour will take place. <br /> <br /> Police Commissioner Tom Warthcn had questions concemh~g Ordinance #I, 1968 concemhig thc <br /> parking of trucks of one ton or more and more than 80" in width on the street. This was tabled <br /> until fl~e next meeting. <br /> <br /> Councilman Wright reported receiving flu'cc (3) esthnates for digester cleaning at tile Waste Water <br /> Treatment Plant: $3600.00, $4590.00, and $4820.00. Councilman Wright gave WWTP <br /> Superintendent, Dan Tinge permission to acccpt thc lowcst bid. <br /> <br /> Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported twenty-four (24) calls, four (4) hnpounded, and one <br /> (1) returned. <br /> <br /> Judge Paul Stcrrctt reported the tn'st Driving School was held on Monday, March 16, 1998. <br /> Thirty-two (32) High School students attended and file school went very well. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Delete, second by Councihnan I%;gman to approve thc paymcnt <br /> of the clakns. Motion can/ed 5-0. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before thc Council at tiffs thne motion was made by <br /> Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright to adjourn the meeting, Motion canied 5-0. <br /> <br /> 'll~e next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be advertised at 7:00 P.
