Perry, Clerk-Treasurer Comcast Cable informed the Clerk-Treasurer they would bc working on fiber optics fitml November 12 thru 19th, 1998 and would activate the fibre optics on November 20th. Councilman Bill Wright said he predicted a doubling of population in the next ten years and wanted a plan for growth. Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Dolen to propose to the Council a need for a Town Manager, appointed by tile Tm~'n Cuuucil and under contract with the Town Council. Motion carried 3-1, Councilman Pygman opposed and President Mathis abstaining. Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councihnan Wright to hire l'resident bla~k Mathis as Town Manager, subject to his acceptance of contract terms. Motion carried 3-1, Councilman Pygrnan opposed and President Mathis abstaining. Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright to approve payment of the claims. Motion carded 5-0. There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright to adjourn. Motion carded 5-0. The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be a special meeting oil Monday, November 9, 1998 at 7:30 P. M. for Economic Development.
