February 21, 1989 <br /> <br /> The ~gular meeting of the Mooresville Town Board of Trustees was held <br />Tuesday, February 21, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> Trustees present were Trustee Dick Heald, Steve Edwards, Pat Overholser, <br />Jack Forbes and Mike Fiscus. No Trustees were absent. <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> Mr. Dave Rihm appeared before the board to request permission to hold <br />the annual Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive on May 6, 1989, stating <br /> that the necessary insurance will be provided. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Forbes, second by Trustee Heald to approve <br />Mr. Rihm's request. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs Rejeanna White, 811 Westbrook Drive, appeared before the board to <br /> advise the board that the sewer had backed up in her home for the fifth <br /> time on February 18, 1989. Mrs. White advised the board that because the <br /> back up was caused by problems she felt were in the main sewer line, she <br /> felt it was the responsibility of the town to pay the following: <br /> <br /> 1. $100.00 deductable on homeowners insurance. <br /> <br /> 2. $ 52.00 estimate of correcting area drain so it will not be access- <br /> able into the house from the main sewer line. <br /> <br /> 3. $2,800.00 estimate by phone for a manual check valve which could <br /> be checked by the homeowner. <br /> <br /> 4. $ 30.00 for an E.P.A. Radon check kit. <br /> <br /> 5. $200.00 for pest control of the sewer damage in the wooden structure <br /> in the basement walls. <br /> <br /> 6.Sewer main replacement that meets E.P.A. standards for Westbrook <br /> Drive and adjoining Holiday Lane. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee Edwards to <br /> approve numbers 1,2,4 and 5 of Mrs. White's requests. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> The board decided to define the problem with the sewer main on Westbrook <br /> Drive and at that time seed a solution to the problem. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ben Mendenhall appeared before the board to advise the board~of <br /> excessive trash piled up at 22 N. Clay Street and that there is a problem <br /> with cars at this location. The board advised Mr. Mendenhall that Mr. <br /> Tim Currens, the town attorney, would advise the property owners of the <br /> town trash ordinance. The board stated that traffic problems in that area <br /> should be handled by the police department. <br /> <br /> The board agreed to meet in executive session on March 7, 1989 at <br /> 7:00 p.m. in regard to the sewer charges at 257 South Park Drive and 259 <br /> South Park Drive. Board attorney Tim Currens requested the executive session. <br /> <br /> Board attorney Tim Currens agreet to investigate a complaint by Mr. <br /> Gaddis in regard to dumping behind the Waste Water Treatment Plant. <br /> <br /> Town engineer Bill Abbott advised the board that the light at South <br /> Indiana Street and Moore Street could possibly be on the state highway's <br /> June bid list. <br /> <br /> Economic Development Director Randy Haymaker advised the board he <br /> had met with the property owners of Victor Dr. in regard to the possibility <br /> of the property owners incorporating to install the sewer line on this street~. <br /> The property owners will meet again on Monday, February 27, 1989 at Town Hall <br /> at 7 :OO:p.m. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Forbes and second by Trustee Heald to approve <br /> the bills and claims.
