Council met in regular session on Tuesday; June 20, 2006, at 6:30 <br />P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br />Town Council members present were President Tom Worthen, John L. Clark, Tray <br />Bryant, Toby Dolen, and Eric Shields. No members were absent. Town attorney Tim <br />Currens was present. <br />Tim Williams from Mt. Gilead Church gave the prayer. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second from Councilman Shields to <br />approve the minutes of June 6, 2006 with one change, the Chamber of Commerce <br />requested closing of the street on July 13, 2006 instead of July 18, 2006. Motion carved <br />5-0. <br />Rockies Express Pipeline Surveys requested permission to do a survey of property the <br />Town owns on Pleiades Road in front of TOA, USA for a possible gas pipe line. This <br />involves taking gas from the Rockies thru this area out to the East. The public forum to <br />show possible routes is June 29~, 2006. Councilman Dolen received a letter for property <br />he owns on Charmil Drive. A motion was made by Councilman Bryant with a second by <br />Councilman Dolen to grant permission for survey only. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Attorney Tim Currens hadn't heard back from the State on_repair of corner sidewalk at <br />South Indiana Street and West Main Street. He will get a contact from Joe Beikman, <br />Street Superintendent, and send pictdres. He Napes to have an answer at the July 1.1~' <br />meeting. Mr. Beikman will schedule the Street Dept. to do the job if the State doesn't <br />reply. <br />Councilman Bryant reported to the council that the quote for 39 West Main Street <br />Parking Lot was too high. He will get another quote for next meeting. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Sheilds to <br />approve a transfer of funds from Cemetery Permanent Maintenance to Cemetery Fund in <br />the amount of $7,962.23. Motion carried S-0. <br />Next, Joe Beikman, Street Department, reported the lowest quote fora 30 by 40 shell was <br />by FBI at $206,030. He said $332,440 would give the same as a complete job quoted by <br />Dallman of $511,486.00. Councilman Clark commented the price was still too high. Mr. <br />Beikman told him the only way to cut would be for the Street Department to do the <br />construction. The building is 13,000 square feet total and will get daily operations of <br />Harrison Avenue and get all equipment under roof. The project would begin in six to <br />.W ~ <br />
