~~ <br />Worthen gave a cost Figure for all employees at $9,200 a year making Police and Fire the <br />same as civilians. The salary paid by workmen's comp is a percentage by statute. Also, <br />the council needs to decide if to treat on duty injuries the sazx~e as off duty injuries and if <br />they want occupational health care. and evaluations to issue off duty or limited duty. The <br />council needs to decide if they want everyone to go to occupational health or the town <br />would have discretion of directing to that in certain instances for evaluation. Another <br />issue is limited duty for police and fire or for all employees. Councilman Shields asked if <br />the language in the personnel policy when they decided if all employees would be the <br />same or if Police and Fire would be different. Attorney Currens answered once the <br />decisions were made, the language would be rewritten throughout the personnel policy. <br />He will get the council copies of the policies he received. <br />Attorney Tim Currens reported he met with Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, on the <br />dog ordinance. They redrafted and deleted some things including permits. The council <br />will get drafts before the next meeting. <br />Joe Beikman, Street Superintendent, requested permission to replace a 1999 Dodge Truck <br />on a state bid. The cost is approximately $16,000. The Dodge has 139,000 miles logged. <br />He will bring in more information. to the council. <br />No animal control report. <br />A motion for approval of payment of claims was made by Councilman Shields and <br />seconded by Councilman Dolen. Motion carried 4-0. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time, a motion was <br />made by Councilman Dolen, with a second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried 4-0. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting will be Tuesday, August 1, 200G, at 6:15 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br />Council members present were: President Tom Worthen, Troy Bryant, John L. Clark, <br />Toby Dolen, and Eric Shields. No members were absent.
