Council President Warthen asked Council members if they could be present for an 11:00 <br />A. M. meeting on Friday to listen to three different agents on Health Insurance. Right <br />now a company is coming in lower than our current agent. If a change is made, it would <br />mean changing TPA, agent, and company and would have to be decided this week. <br />Councilman Bryant said he could not be present. The council decided to go ahead and <br />advertise for Friday, August 18, 2006 at 11:00 A. M. <br />A motion was made to approve payment of claims by Councilman Dolen with a second <br />by Councilman Bryant. Motion carried 3-0. Councilman Shields had left the meeting to <br />go back to work. <br />There being no further business to discuss at this time a motion was made by Councilman <br />Dolen with a second by Councilman Bryant to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting will be Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at 6:30 P. M. to <br />discuss Health Insurance. <br />Council members present: President Tom Warthen, Toby Dolen, John L. Clark, and Eric <br />Shields. Troy Bryant was absent. Town attorney Tim Curt'ens was present. <br />Council President Tom Warthen began the meeting stating they were here to listen to <br />three insurance proposals and they may or may not make a decision today. <br />First, Jim Benge, Sagamore Benefits, explained a self funded plan thru Unified Group <br />Services as a TPA and SLG as the insurance company, a 3 tier drug program with <br />Envision, $30,000 specific, an Aware program for wellness, and a transplant program that <br />would pay $100% in network and 70% out of network. Mr. Benge also had a fully <br />insured quote from Advantage, an HMO, with a three tier prescription program. A <br />referral from family doctor was required to see any other doctor. <br />Next, Jim Purcell, Total Benefits, with a TPA called Med Ben and a quote for self funded <br />plan from Mutual of Omaha outlined his plan. He also quoted a $%30,000 and $35,000 <br />specific and a three tier prescription program. Health Savings Accounts were discussed. <br />Last, Doug Henselmeir, our current agent with Mayfield Insurance presented a self <br />funded insurance plan quote from Hartford Insurance, a PPO with Trustmark. Expected <br />costs were $1,190,632.00 and maximum costs were $1,437,683.00 for the plan. <br />Council President Warthen said he was not comfortable lw~ e~ ~ ~eXetcould be and he <br />felt more secure with a 24/12 on a self funded plan. To <br />negotiations with the three companies. Attorney Currens said everyone has equal <br />opportunity to get better figures. Council agreed. Fixed costs were as follows: Jim <br />Benge $210,121.24, Purcell $217,748.15 and Mayfield Insurance $210,789.20. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Dolen to go with Mayfield Insurance and change from IICC to <br />Hartford Insurance. The motion was on the floor, but a discussion followed because <br />Councilman Shields had left and Councilman Clark said he did not think they were going <br />to vote, he wanted to make a decision later. Then after more discussion Councilman <br />Clark said he would second the motion on the floor. Motion carried 3-0. Doug <br />Henselmeir will come to Clerk-Treasurer's office next week for signatures and to get <br />outstanding big claims paid before August 31, 2006. <br />Q~ <br />
