~~~ <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Dolen to <br />approve minutes of May 3, 2005, Executive session and the regular meeting. Motion <br />carried 4-0. <br />A public hearing was held for an additional appropriation of $39,475 from General to <br />Police Department budget line item for car leases. This is money from the auction of <br />older police cars. No one appeared to voice an objection. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Dolen to approve the additional <br />appropriation. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Next, John Taylor, Morgan County Economic Director, presented a request for Honey <br />and Me tax abatement. The Redevelopment Commission determined the abatement to <br />not adversely affect the T1F District. This will be a three-year tax abatement on building. <br />The 14,000 square foot building will cost $548,000 and will hold mare new inventory <br />plus allow for eight new jobs. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second <br />by Councilman Shields to approve Confirmatory Resolution #7, 2005, athree-year <br />abatement on building for Haney and Me. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Next, a motion was made by Councilman Dolen with a second by Councilman Clark to <br />approve Confirmatory Resolution #8, 2005, alive-year tax abatement on personal <br />property for Ambassador Steel. Motion carried 4-0. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Shields with a second by Councilman Dolen to approve Confirmatory Resolution #9, a <br />six-year tax abatement on real property for Ambassador Steel. Motion carried 4-0. They <br />are adding on 15,000 square feet to their building at a cost of $75,000 and getting new <br />equipment at a cast of $400,000. They will be adding six additional employees. <br />Wilma Rusie, 802 Johnson Road, requested to annex to the Town sa she could hook on to <br />the wastewater. Her septic is failing. Her next door neighbor is already hooked on. Mrs. <br />Rusie was told the hook-on fee was $900. We do have contiguity so the annexation <br />process can begin. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by <br />Councilman Dolen to approve. Motion. carried 4-0. <br />A discussion was led concerning paying of a membership fee for the Chamber of <br />Commerce. Our annual contribution would be $500. Councilman Shields asked attorney <br />Currens if there would be a potential conflict by having a membership and he asked <br />where do we draw the line at joining clubs. Councilman Worthen sari he made a good <br />point. A motion was made by Councilman Shields with a second by Councilman Dolen <br />tv not join the Chamber of Commerce at this time. Motion carried 3-l. Councilman <br />Clark opposed. <br />Air Handler quotes: EcoQuest $ 8,330 <br />Natures Way 11,460 <br />Bill Spencer 11,752 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Dolen with a second by Councilman Clark to <br />approve the quote to EcoQuest for $8,330 as it was the lower quote and with a <br />contingency all three bids are presented to the Clerk-Treasurer's office for filing. Motion <br />carried 4-0. <br />Councilman Shields suggested the council think about the other departments and their <br />buildings far this service. Tom Worthen and Dan Klinger will get together with the <br />department heads to evaluate their buildings. <br />Next, TOA, USA requested a tax abatement on a building addition of 12,000 square feet. <br />This addition will enhance the electrical and mechanical capabilities. The building <br />addition will cost $1,233,000 and will house lackey roams and restroom facilities, plus a <br />maintenance room and a display room. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a <br />second by Councilman Dolen to approve a Declaratory Resolution #10, 2005, athree- <br />year tax abatement on building. Motion carried 4-0. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Dolen with a second by Councilman Clark to <br />approve Declaratory Resolution # 11, 2005, for athree-year tax abatement for Debbie <br />Green, LLC, a spec building on Lot 22B of Flagstaff Business Park known as Flag 2. <br />Motion carried 4-0. <br />
