V~~ <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Shields to <br />approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br />There being no further business to came before the council at this time a motion was <br />made by Councilman Dolen with a second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be on Tuesday, June 1, 2004,, at <br />6:30 P. Perry, Clerk-Treasurer <br />June 1, 2004 <br />The Moairesville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 5:30 <br />P. M at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br />Council members present were: President Tom Warthon, Troy Bryant, John L Clark, <br />Toby Dolen; and Eric Shields. No members were absent: Town attorney Tim Currens <br />was present. <br />A rnodon.was made by Councilman Shields, second by Councilman Dolen to approve the <br />minutes of the May 1$, 2004 meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br />First on the agenda was Rosemary Rogers requesting permission to close Main Street <br />from Indiana Street to Clay Street on July 17, 2004 for Founders Day Festival. The hours <br />will be from 8:00 AM to G:00 PM and they have already talked to the Police Department_ <br />President Worthen stated he had talked with Police Chief Viles and he mentioned there <br />was a new event this year. Mrs. Rogers said that in the past there were Bluegrass Bands <br />and tbis;~ear they were going to try having a local talent show. The people could cast a <br />vote for a penzty with the proceeds going to the Children's Christmas Fund with the <br />Police Department. She said they would be doing a shuttle service from the Mayfield <br />Parking Lot for the performers, which will help with the parking problem: <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Shields,;to approve the <br />closing of Main Street between Indiana Street and Clay Street on July ~7, 2004 far <br />Founders. Motion carried S- <br />0. <br />Next was Josh Brandt, Central Indiana Campground Association requesting permission to <br />hook on to the Town. sanitary system. They understood that when Carter Lee was builC <br />that the town had extended the sewer line out to them, which is next to their property. <br />When they. replaced their septic system a few years ago it was not located in the best area <br />and they have had problems ever since, so they were asking if it was a possibility for <br />them to connect to the town sanitation system. President Worthen asked Mr. Beikman if <br />Carter Lee was on a pump type system and he said they had a private lift, station. Mr. <br />Beikman said there was atwo-inch force main that ran from Carter Lee to'Brookmore <br />Subdivision .that would probably handle it all right. He said it would have to be pumped. <br />Mr. ~larthen asked if it would have to be pumped and forced into that line and would <br />there need to be a check system. Mr. Beikman said that was correct and they would need <br />a check valve put in the line. Mr. Worthen asked what was at the campground that they <br />would be hooking on to the sewer. Mr. Brandt stated there would be a caretaker's house, <br />dinning hall with kitchen, and a shower house, which is mostly used in August during <br />their yearly camp. The caretaker's hawse is used all the time. Mr. Worthen ~slced Mr. <br />Beikman how much of the line was private and he said as he remembers the town paid <br />for part of the line. The Council said they would like for them to come back with an <br />1 <br />
