~V~ <br />Councilman Bryant asked Joe Beikman if he had heard from Swinney Brothers on all <br />three wastewater projects or are all three ready to go. Attorney Currens had heard from <br />them and had returned their call and hasn't heard back: The contracts are ready and we <br />need to get moving. Councilman Bryant asked Joe about the Christmas Decorations <br />concerning the brackets; will we have them up by Christmas season? Joe Beikman said <br />he was waiting on Power and Light to get back with him. They didn't have any <br />guidelines or anything and are in the process of trying to write some about them, they <br />don't know what they are going to require at this point. Councilman Worthen asked if <br />there was anything the Council could do to help speed up things. Councilman Bryant <br />said he would give them a call. We have spent way too much money an the decorations <br />to not have them up for Christmas. <br />Mark Taylor, Animal Control Officer, reported twenty-six (26) calls, four (4) impounds, <br />and one (1) returned. <br />The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at 6:30 P. M. at the <br />Mooresville Town Hall. Councilman Dolen will be absent due to taking the voting <br />machines down to the county. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Shields to <br />approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time Councilman <br />Dolen made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Perry, Clerk-Treasurer <br />November 2, 2004 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at 6:30 P.1VT. at the <br />Mooresville Town Hall. <br />Council members present were: President Tam Worthen, Troy Bryant, John L. Clark, <br />and Eric Shields. Councilman Dolen was absent. Town attorney Tim Currens was <br />present. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Shields, with a second by Councilman Bryant to <br />approve the minutes of October 19, 2004. Motion carried 4-0. <br />This was the Public Hearing for Confirmatory Resolution for Prodigy Group tax <br />abatement on equipment. Robert Brewington, President of Prodigy, explained they are <br />expanding one of their lines for Hi-Performance bicycles. They make the hubs for <br />professional bikes and currently have afive-year contract for this product. They also <br />produce mass conveyance systems far Eli Lilly and do work far Ford, Allison, and <br />Chrysler. They are hiring ten new employees. A motion was made by Councilman Clark <br />with a second by Councilman Shields to approve athree-year tax abatement on <br />equipment far Prodigy Group. Motion carried 3-1 with Councilman Bryant opposed. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Shields to approve <br />Confirmatory Resolution 15, 2004 for Prodigy Group. Motion carried 3-1 with <br />Councilman Bryant opposed. <br />Rosemary Rogers appeared before the council to request the closing of East Main Street <br />for the 16~ Annual Victorian Christmas. She also asked for permission to use the <br />Methodist Church for the puppet shows. The Methodist Church is currently a hardhat <br />area. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Shields to <br />approve the closing of East Main Street from 8 A. NI. to 5 P.1V1, Saturday, December 4, <br />2004 and to deny use of the church. Motion carried 4-0. <br />
