~~~ <br />Mr. Mayfield stated that all the trees in downtown have been trimmed at the cost of $3500.00 <br />and the landscaping at State Road 67 and Old State Road 67 at the cost of $2500.00 have been <br />completed. He also asked the town if they could buy a new tree to replace one that had to be <br />removed on Main Street. Councilman Mathis said they wauld~ look into it and get back with him <br />at a later date. <br />~, <br />Legal business: Mr. Currens stated we had given consent to the Morgan County History and <br />Genealogy Association for the restoration of the Old Methodist Episcopal Cemetery and we <br />needed to sign the agreement for that project. We also need to sign Ordinance 3, 2003 to amend <br />the Salary Ordinance #9, 2002 for Town Employees. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Worthen, second by Councilman Mathis, to approve <br />Ordinance #3, 2003 amending the salary Ordinance #9, 2002, . Motion carried 3-0. <br />Park Department: Mr. Callahan reported that they had a Pool Party today on the 15~` <br />Anniversary of the opening of the pool and they had 2,000 people.present. <br />Animal Control: Mazk Taylor reported he had 32 calls, 14 impounds and 9 returns. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Worthen, second by Councilman Mathis, to approve payment <br />of the claims. Motion carried 3-0. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this tame, a motion to adjourn was <br />made by Councilman Worthen, second by Councilman Mathis. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br />Town Council members present were: President Toby Dolen, Troy Bryant, John L. <br />Clark, Tom Worthen, and Mazk Mathis. No members were absent. Town Attorney Tim <br />Currens was present. <br />Jerry Thomas, Assistant Pastor at Springhill Christian Ministries, gave the invocation. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Worthen to approve <br />the minutes of 6-17-03 meeting. Motion carried unanimously, <br />Clark Bancquet appeared before the council with a request for a re-zon ___... _... _ <br />e from Agric. to <br />R-2 at 12738 Landersdale Road. The Plan Commission had recommended to the Town <br />Council to approve the re-zone by a vote of 8-0 subject to Septic system approval and <br />electrical systems approval. He has his septic approval and is still working on the <br />electric. Attorney Tim Currens explained the electrical needed to be checked to see if the <br />box needed separated for a double. Building Inspector Joe Beikman told the council Mr. <br />Bancquet needed a licensed electrician to inspect the box and then file for a permit as a <br />use of a double and bring the double up to building code, but he can't file for the permit <br />until it is re-zoned. A motion was made by Councilman Worthen, second by Councilmman <br />Clark to approve the re-zone from Agric, to R-2 upon satisfactory inspection of the <br />electrical sustem. Motion carried 5-0. Attorney Currens will bring the Ordinance to the <br />next council meeting for signatures.
