- A motion was made by Councilman Mathis, a second by Councilman Clark to approve
~~~ signing off on the tact water consumptions will now be received from the Internet instead
of a paper report being mailed to us from the water company. Motion carried 5-0.
Attorney Currens informed the council he had received a letter from IDEM in which they
accepted our intentions of how the Town would handle the sludge problem. H7EM wants
the Town to follow thru by February 28, 2004 with a progress report implementation
schedule for any type of WWTP expansion/sludge handling improvements and these are
to be scheduled no later that July 2004. He talked with John Kupke of HNTB and will
meet with him soon to get his feeling about what the council had discussed as alternative
ways of handling the sludge and he will report back to the council.
Councilman Bryant asked about the Young Addition. Tim Currens said he had all the
property owner's names but not all of their addresses. Councilman Bryant said when
Gary Fields came to the council this summer he wanted to build on an interior street and
wanted to hook-on the sewer. That night the council told them they would send letters to
have a meeting to see how much interest there was from the residents. Councilman
Bryant said he would like to send that letter and wants to put a time limit on the time they
have to sign an agreement to be annexed and hooked onto the sewer. Maybe sixty days
or ninety days and iF there is enough participation we go ahead with the project. They
would have to decide if they want to be annexed and they would have to pay the $900
hook-on fee. Attorney Currens asked Joe if the Town could handle this addition and do
we want to say everyone needs to agree as it has been done in the past. Councilman
Mathis said he and Joe had worked to see what a single line would cost to Mr. Fields
because he does not want to put in a septic. For this the cost is probably around
$30,000.00. Councilman Bryant asked if they could go with 98% participation. He said
he would hate for one person to stop the project. Councilman Mathis said once the letters
are out and received back, the council could -make that call.. Attorney Currens said he
would put in the letter the council wants all of them to agree and see what happens.
Attorney Currens said he would get the addresses and then draft a letter.
Street Superintendent, Joe Seikman, asked if the council wants the street department to
hang the Christmas lights that have beers used for the last several years. Consensus of the
Council was to hang the decorations.
Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor reported twenty (20) calls, eight (8) impounds, and
four (4) returns.
A motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Warthen to approve
payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0.
The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council. will be Tuesday, December 1.6, 2003,
at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall.
There being no further business before the council at this time, a motion was made by
Councilman Clark, a second by Councilman Bryant to adjourn. the meeting. Motion
carried S-0.
ATTEST: /
._~ ~-
~r
__
Sandra R_ Perry, Clerk Treasurer
~~
Toby Dol President
