August 4, 2009 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at 6:30 P. M. <br /> at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Council members present were: President Mark Harris, Vice President Jeff Cook, and John L. <br /> Clark. Council member Tony Langley and Council member Ryan Goodwin was absent. Town. <br /> attorney Tim Currens was present. <br /> Gene Deverick., Grace Church, gave the invocation. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark to amend and approve the minutes of July 21, 2009 <br /> second by Councilman Cook; the amendment was to change Mark Taylor to Mark Harris as <br /> Council.President. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> William Adams was on the agenda for the purpose of discussing a purchase of Town owned <br /> property. Mr. Adams was not present. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to approve pay <br /> request#8 from Thieneman in the amount of$77,075.16 for the Wastewater UV Project. Motion <br /> carried 3-0. <br /> David Stegman, Roberson Woods, requested a block party. This is the fifth year for the party <br /> and will be held on September 12, 2009, at 1:00 P. M. A motion was made by Councilman <br /> Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to approve pending on paperwork being completed. <br /> Motion carried 3-0. <br /> Other Business: A Presidential appointment was made by President Hams to appoint Ann <br /> Whaley to the BZA board. A Presidential appointment made relieving Robert Williamson from <br /> the Plan Commission. <br /> Legal: A motion was made to approve the Troy Risk special discharge agreement that has been <br /> signed by the company by Councilman Clark with a.second by Councilman Cook. Motion <br /> carried 3-0. Council President Harris signed the agreement. <br /> Attorney Tim Currens commented he had picked up the Certificate of no obligation for the CCD <br /> levy from the County Auditor's office and will forward to the DLGF. <br /> Joe Beikman, Street Superintendent, report the streets at Sundown Manor were in bad shape. <br /> There are four streets and would total around $25,000 to pave. They will be added to the list. <br /> Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported twenty one(21) calls, eight(8) impounds, and <br /> three(3) returns. `" <br /> A motion was made by Councilman.Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to approve <br /> payment of the claims. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> There being no other business to come before the council at this tune a motion was made by <br /> Councilman Cook, with a second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the meeting.
