Andrew Paine, Golars Environmental, appeared before the council with a need to monitor .967 <br /> contamination at Tobacco Road, 106 South Indiana Street. They want to do all four wells <br /> at one time. This will probably be a two day project. The boring under the street will <br /> take probably '/2 day and they hope to start between September 13tt'and September 17t h <br /> Attorney Currens informed him South Indiana Street was not a town street but a state <br /> highway and they would need to go to the State to get a permit to bore under the <br /> highway. Mr. Currens told him that whoever was going to do the boring had to have an <br /> agreement with the town if on town property. The one well on the sidewalk next to <br /> Rick's Muffler will need an agreement. Attorney Currens will put in the agreement to <br /> repair any damages made and a release for the town from anyone getting hurt. Attorney <br /> Currens will get the agreement ready. <br /> Joe Mills,Habitat for Humanity requested a street closure for a 5K run on October 16th at <br /> 9:00 A. M. The permit request has been addressed by all concerned department heads. <br /> They are currently in their 36th build in Morgan County. The run will begin and end at <br /> the Women's Center parking lot of St. Francis Hospital. The critical areas will be staffed <br /> by Town and County police. The run will last one to two hours and will have between <br /> sixty and one hundred runners. Council President Goodwin spoke to representatives <br /> from Habitat p rior to the meeting. Prior notification for barricades will be given and the <br /> run will be advertised in media and in flyers. A motion was made by Councilman Cook <br /> with a second by Councilman Harris to approve the run route. <br /> Dennis Payne Sr., Counter Top Shop, was next on the agenda but was not present. He <br /> had indicated he wanted to discuss the change of address with the renaming of Old State <br /> Road 67. Councilman Harris asked if there was any news about the address change. <br /> They are still waiting on Kenny Hale to respond. <br /> Tim Medsker, Fire Chief, submitted the two quotes for extrication equipment: <br /> MES $41,028.13 with a$500 trade in on existing equipment <br /> Mid America $46,976.00 with a$500 trade in on existing equipment <br /> The current equipment is twenty five years old. Council President Ryan Goodwin said <br /> with our situation at present with the budget he had asked Tim Medsker to obtain quotes. <br /> The discussion led to obtaining the money from Riverboat Fund. A motion was made by <br /> Councilman Cook with a second by Councilman Harris to approve the quote from MES. <br /> Motion carried 3-0. <br /> Tim Medsker, Fire Department, reported ninety-nine responses for fire and six hundred <br /> seventy eight year to date. The fire department is selling t-shirts for breast cancer <br /> awareness. Their goal is to sell 1,000 shirts. They have sold 462 shirts to date. <br /> Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor,reported twenty-three (23) calls, nine (9) <br /> impounds, and six (6)returns. <br /> There were no claims ready to approve at this meeting. The Clerk-Treasurer's office has <br /> had a lot of sickness and is running behind. <br /> There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was <br /> made by Councilman Harris with a second by Councilman Cook to adjourn the meeting. <br /> Motion carried 3-0. <br /> The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be on <br /> Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 6:30 P.
