977 <br /> November 2,2010 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday,November 2, 2010 at <br /> 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Town Council members present: President Ryan Goodwin, Vice President Tony <br /> Langley, John L. Clark, Mark Harris, and Jeff Cook. No members were absent. Town <br /> attorney Tim Currens was present. Clerk-Treasurer Sandra Perry was present. <br /> George Watkins gave the invocation. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to <br /> approve minutes of the last meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Dean Mayfield, Mayfield Insurance Company spoke to the council about the Workman's <br /> Compensation Insurance. This insurance is currently carried by Larry Long at Hadley, <br /> Cook, and Quillen Insurance as well as the liability insurance,vehicle and building <br /> insurance. Dean Mayfield was here to discuss the suggestion that was made to switch the <br /> workman's comp to Mayfield insurance that carries the health, dental, disability, and life <br /> insurance for better management. Councilman Clark asked if Larry Long had been <br /> notified of this meeting. Mr.'Long hadn't been invited to the meeting. Councilman Cook <br /> asked what Larry's thought was on this. Dean Mayfield explained that in some instances <br /> in the past.because the on duty injury was put on the health insurance company card <br /> instead of workman's comp. Councilman Clark still wants Larry Long to appear before <br /> the council. Councilmen Cook and Langley want more time to discuss. A motion was <br /> made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to discuss with Larry <br /> Long at the next meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Harris with a second by Councilman Clark to <br /> approve the second reading of Ordinance 14, 2010, a police vehicle identification number <br /> inspection fee. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Councilman Cook explained an issue with the sub list for crossing guards. He suggested <br /> a need to advertise for some subs. Chief Viles will be notified. <br /> The council members received a copy of a public nuisance ordinance and will discuss and <br /> review at November 16th's meeting. <br /> Fire Chief, Tim Medsker, reported ninety-eight(98) calls in October and eight hundred <br /> eighty(880) calls year to date. <br /> Councilman Langley asked Street Superintendent, Joe Beikman, about the traffic light on <br /> South Indiana and South Street. Mr. Beikman reported a new box should be installed on <br /> Thursday and would only take about two hours for the installation. <br /> Dan Tingle, Wastewater Superintendent,gave an update on the expansion project. The <br /> project is on schedule. There have been no safety issues. In the report Mr. Tingle had a <br /> handwritten letter to IDEM requesting them to delete all requirements in Part 1,C., Final <br /> Effluent Limitations and Monitoring Requirements for Outfal1002. Mr. Tingle agrees <br /> Outfall 002 should be flow monitored for more accurate effluent loading results and he <br /> has asked the engineer to speck a flow meter that will work in the effluent channel of the <br /> 002 outfall. This will be the first change order on this construction project. <br /> Street Superintendent, Joe Beikman, said the sewer line that Theising and G. R. Wood <br /> were on had to have another line and they need 560 feet of line. This had to be done <br /> immediately. Attorney Currens is checking into Food and Beverage Fund for the <br /> expenditure. <br /> Animal Control Officer,Mark Taylor,reported twenty(20) calls, six(6) impounds, and <br /> six(6)returns. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Harris with a second by Councilman Cook to <br /> approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br />
