978 <br /> There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was <br /> made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Harris to adjourn the meeting. <br /> Motion carried 5-0. <br /> The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be Tuesday,November 16, at <br /> 6:30 P. Perry, Clerk-Treasurer <br /> November 16, 2010 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday,November 16, 2010 at <br /> 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Town Council members present were: President Ryan Goodwin, Tony Langley,John L. <br /> Clark,Mark Harris, and Jeff Cook. No members were absent. Town attorney Tim <br /> Curren was present. Erma Holmes from the Clerk-Treasurer's office took the minutes. <br /> Mary Ann Hawkins St. Thomas More Church gave the invocation. <br /> g .. <br /> i <br /> A motion was made by CouncilAman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to <br /> approve the minutes of November 2 2010. Motion <br /> Pp carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Harris with a second by Councilman Clark to <br /> approve Resolution 12,2010,in honor of service as a Police Commission member and a <br /> long time citizen for Walter Dean Kays. Motion carried 5-0. The framed resolution was <br /> then presented to Dean Kay's widow, Sue Kays, and the family. <br /> New Business: <br /> Rosemary requested y Ro ers g q ted a street closing for Victorian Christmas, Saturday, December <br /> 4,2010 from 8:00 A. M. to 4:00 P. M. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a <br /> second by Councilman Langley to approve. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Brian Haggard, Banning Engineering, appeared before the council to report on a pre- <br /> construction meeting at the Cemetery. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a <br /> second by Councilman.Langley to approve paying Banning $1,500 from the Riverboat <br /> Fund to do the staking and the Utility Department and Street Department volunteered to <br /> do the construction. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Next,Dean Mayfield, Mayfield Insurance, and Larry Long, Hadley Cook& Quillen <br /> Insurance, spoke before the council concerning changing the Workman's Compensation <br /> insurance from Hadley, Cook& Quillen to Mayfield Insurance. Council President <br /> Goodwin said that at a Health Insurance meeting back in the Fall it was discussed that <br /> since Mayfield carried our Health Insurance it might be better to have the Workman's <br /> Compensation insurance with them so that claims for each would not get mixed up and <br /> get processed by the wrong insurance. Larry Long spoke to the council about educating <br /> the employees. He said each department head needed to make sure their employees <br /> know to give the workman's comp card when injured on duty. Council President Ryan <br /> Goodwin and Councilman Harris talked about streamlining the claims process by having <br /> both insurances with Mayfield Insurance so it would be simpler for the employees. A <br /> motion was made by Councilman Harris with a second by Council President Goodwin to <br /> change the Workman's Comp insurance to Mayfield Insurance to streamline with the <br /> health insurance. The vote was 2-3opposed. Councilmen Cook,Langley, and Clark <br /> voted opposed. Motion did not carry. <br />
