11 <br /> <br /> May 17, 1988 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Board of Trustees was held <br />Tuesday, May 17, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. Trustees <br />present were Dick Heald, Pat Overholser, Mike Fiscus, Steve Edwards and <br />President Jack Forbes. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the May 3, 1988 meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> Mike Cliver of ABATE appeared before the board to ask the board to proclaim <br />the week of June 12-19, 1988 Motorcycle Awareness Week. Motion was made by <br />Trustee Heald to proclaim the week of June 12-19, 1988 Motorcycle Awareness <br />Week. Trustee Overholser second. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Pam Swinney appeared before the board to ask the board to grant sewer <br />adjustments for water use which does not go through the sewer system. Board <br />Attorney Tim Co~rens explained that our sewer rate structure is based on total <br />water use and cannot be adjusted at this time. <br /> Mr. Cyrus Gray appeared before the board to advise the board that when <br /> it rains, water runs down North Indiana Street and stands in the yards in <br /> the area of Washington Street and North Indiana Street. Mr. Gray asked the <br /> board if the street department could look into this problem. The board agreed <br /> to see what could be done about this situation. <br /> Board Attorney Tim Currens advised the board that the purchase of the land <br /> from Indianapolis Power and Light Company for the cemetery would be completed <br /> Friday, May 20, 1988. <br /> The agreement between the Town of Mooresville and the developers of the <br /> Westside Lift Station was submitted to the board for approval. Trustee Edwards <br /> made a motion to accept said agreement. Trustee Heald second. Motion carried. <br /> Board Attorney Tim Currens agreed to advise the property owners on North <br /> Indiana Street of the right-of-way easements for the drainage ditch and ask <br /> the owners for their consent to allow the town to construct said ditch in <br /> this area. <br /> <br /> Street Superintendent Joe Beikman advised the board that the street <br /> department is installing new street signs at all intersections in town. <br /> The park department advised the board that the hearing with the state <br /> board of tax con~missioner's would be held Friday, May 20, 1988 to approve the <br /> sale ofbonds for the swimming pool project. <br /> Police Chief George Ditton informed the board that he hired Pat Kanoy <br /> as a dispatcher for the department. <br /> Swimming Pool affidavit's for Cathy Rhoades and Phyllis Peasley were <br /> approved on a motion by Trustee Heald. Second by Trustee Edwards. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> Trustee Edwards made a motion to allow the EDC Con~mittee to approve the <br /> rental of office space for the Economic Development Co~missioner. Trustee <br /> Overholser second. Motion carried. <br /> Trustee Edwards discussed with the board the problems the animal control <br /> officer is encountering with stray dogs in town. The board decided to look <br /> into the possibility of enacting a town dog tax to help defray expenses <br /> incurred in the control of this problem. <br /> Trustee Fiscus made a motion to approve the lease agreement with Indiana <br /> National Bank for the telephone system. Trustee Edwards second. Motion carried. <br /> Trustee Heald made a motion to approve the bills and claims. Trustee <br /> Edwards second. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
