July 19, 1988 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Board of Trustees was called <br /> to order at 7:30 p.m., July 19, 1988 by Board President Jack Forbes. <br /> <br /> Trustees present were Pat Overholser, Steve Edwards and Jack Forbes. <br /> Trustees absent were Dick Heald and Mike Fiscus. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Forbes to approve the minutes of the previous <br /> board meeting as submitted. Trustee Overholser second. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Susan Rickenhour was present from the First United Methodist church to <br /> request blocking East Harrison St. from Indiana St. to North Clay St. to <br /> enable the Bible School children to have room to play. The roadblock would <br /> be needed from 6:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. from Sunday July 21, 1988 through Friday, <br /> August 5, 1988. The church would provide personnel to set up, man and remove <br /> the roadblock. No booths would be involved as to not interfer with fire or <br /> police protection. Proof of Insurance will be given to the clerk's office. <br /> Permission was granted on a motion by Trustee Edwards. Second by Trustee <br /> Overholser. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Attorney Mike Ksenak read dedication of public land use signed by Raesta <br /> Estates. The dedication was tabled until Street Superintendent Joe Beikman <br /> has an opportunity to talk to the developers of this subdivision. <br /> <br /> Attorney Mike Ksenak discussed the procedure necessary to establish a <br /> fire district. <br /> <br /> LR&S budget for $40,000.00 was discussed and approved by motion from <br /> Trustee Overholser, second by Trustee Edwards. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Attorney Mike Ksenak opened the paving bids from Astro Paving, Zionsville, <br />Indiana and Dalton Equipment, Cloverdale, IN. The bids will be taken under <br />advisement until the August 2, 1988 town board meeting by motion from Trustee <br />Forbes, second by Trustee Overholser. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Trustee Edwards reported that the town engineer, William Abbott is in <br />Methodist Hospital. ' <br /> <br /> Fire Chief Jim Bruner discussed the proposed fire district. Chief Bruner <br />reported that his department is not in favor of forming a fire district. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Edwards and second by Trustee Overholser to <br />approve an additional $5,000.00 to the town hall budget for the Senior Center. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. McConnell, 745 North Indiana St., appeared before the board to request <br />relief on sewer bills for watering their grass due to the drought situation. <br />Attorney Mike Ksenak informed the Trustees that the Town ordinance on sewer <br />rates would have to be a~nended to enable the board to allow exeptions of this <br />type. <br /> <br /> Mrs. McConnel also requested that Highland Drive be paved this year. <br />Trustee Overholser advised that Mr. Beikman would take that under advisement <br />when considering paving for this year. <br /> <br /> Pool affidavits were approved for Perry W. Potter, 64 Raesta Dr. and <br />Keva D. Turner, Mooresville were approved on a motion by Trustee Overholser, <br />second by Trustee Edwards. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made to approve the bills and claims by Trustee Edwards, second <br />by Trustee Overholser. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> With no further business to come before the Town Board of Trustees at this <br />time motion was made by Trustee Overholser to adjourn.
