August 2, 1988 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Board of Trustees was held <br /> Tuesday, August 2, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Trustees present were Richard Heald, Pat Overholser, Steve Edwards and <br /> Jack Forbes. Trustee Mike Fiscus was absent. <br /> <br /> Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> Allan Tutewiler, developer of Woodland Hills Subdivision appeared before <br /> the board to request the streets of Woodland Hills be dedicated to the town. ~ <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Overholser to accept the dedication of the <br /> streets of Woodland Hills Subdivision with the streets to be maintained by <br /> the developers for two years. Trustee Heald second. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Allan Tutewiler asked the board if they could take measures to clean up <br /> the house west of Old Town Park on South Street. The board advised Mr. <br /> Tutewiler they would send the property owner in question a letter asking <br /> them to clean up this property. <br /> <br /> The board asked Attorney Tim Currnes to ask the County Highway Department <br /> if they could cut the grass along Old State Road 67 before Old Settlers. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald to accept Ordinance #12-1988 which will <br /> enable the town to qualify for certain federal and state grants. Trustee <br /> Overholser second. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald to adopt a Resolution making Board <br />President Jack Forbes and Clerk-Treasurer Ann Wahley signature's <br />on the Swimming Pool Bond. Trustee Edwards second. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Attorney Tim Currens advised the board that the property at 18 West <br />Harrison St. has an outstanding sewer bill of $439.81 which Mrs. Wisner .--~-~' <br />would like to have waived. The board decided not to waive the sewer bill. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Overholser to accept the low bid of Dalton <br />Asphalt for paving. Trustee Edwards second. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Overholser to purchase a used tri-axle dump <br />truck in the amount of $13,0000.00. Trustee Heald second. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Edwards to have an ordinance written to install <br />a 4 way stop at the intersection of Indiana Street and Washington Street on <br />a 30 day trial basis. The sign should be installed in a barrel in the middle <br />of the intersection and the police should monitor the intersection during <br />this period of time. Trustee Heald second. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> The board advised the police department to enforce the no parking <br />ordinance on Main Street from Monroe Street to Indianapolis Road and on <br />Indiana Street from 4:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. on Monday's. <br /> <br /> Street Superintendent Joe Beikman advised the board that Indianapolis <br />Power & Light would like to set up a meeting in regard to the street lights <br />on North Indiana Street. <br /> <br /> The board was advised that there has been additional requests for a stop <br />sign at Monroe St. and Carlisle Street. The board asked Street Superintendent <br />Joe Beikman to request another traffic study at this location and to request i~ <br />that the speed limit be reduced now that this area is in town. <br /> <br /> The board was advised that the property at 133 West Washington St. had a <br />stool leak for a period of one year and requested a sewer exemption. The <br />board decided not to allow an exemption. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee Overholser to allow <br />a swimming pool exemption for James Miller at 30 Greenwood Dr. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> The board will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, August 23, 1988 to adopt the <br />1989 budget. <br /> <br /> <br />
