November 15, 1988 <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Board of Trustees was held Tuesday, <br /> November 15, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Members present were Trustees Dick Heald, Pat Overholser, Steve Edwards, Mike <br /> Fiscus and Jack Forbes. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Sally Shrake appeared before the board to thank the town for the work that <br /> was done to help the drainage problem on her property. <br />Ii Mr. Delbert Williams, 440 Maple lane, appeared before the board to request <br /> payment for repair of the street cut which was necessary to allow Mr. Williams <br /> to hook on the town's sewer line. Mrs. Keeton, contractor of the William's home <br /> at 440 Maple lane accompanied Mr. Williams in his appeal. The board informed Mr. <br /> Williams and Mrs. Keeton that it is the homeowners responsibility to run sewer <br /> lines from their structure to the town latterals, therefore no compensation could <br /> be granted to Mr. Williams. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee Overholser to have board <br /> attorney Tim Currens prepare the necessary documents to clarify the legal description <br /> of property boundaries which connect to the recently purchased property of Dick <br /> Newcomer on Madison Street. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Edwards and second by Trustee Fiscus to inform the <br /> Nazarene Church that the alley located behind their property is not on record as <br /> belonging to the Town of Mooresville. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Ordinance #17-1988 - Revised Street Cleaning Ordinance was approved on a <br /> motion by Trustee Overholser, second by Trustee Heald. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee Edwards to allow <br /> a street cut at 1011 North Indiana St. for a water line. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Edwards and second by Trustee Heald to hold an <br /> open house at the Economic Development Office and Town Hall on December 10, 1988 <br /> from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and to purchase Christmas Lights for the Town Hall. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Trustee Overholser asked the Mooresville Times to inform the citizens of <br /> Mooresville not to burn leaves in the street. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee Overholser to remove the <br /> stop signs on Indiana Street at Washington Street. Motion carried by a vote of <br /> 4 in favor, 1 against. <br /> <br /> Trustee Overholser advised the board that the flag poles at Indiana Street <br /> and Main Street will be removed in the near future. <br /> <br /> Donations for additional Christmas decorations will be accepted at the Clerk's <br /> office. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Edwards second by Trustee Fiscus to appoint EDC <br /> Director Randy Haymaker, Street Superintendent Joe Beikman and Trustee Mike <br /> Fiscus to a committee to work with the downtown revitalization committee in <br /> regard to street, curbs and sidewalk construction in the downtown area. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Trustee Mike Fiscus and EDC Director Randy Haymaker were appointed to a <br /> committee to work with the County Commissioners to redistrict Brown Township <br /> precincts. <br /> <br /> Trustee Edwards reported on the progress of the Morgan County Animal Control <br /> Con~nittee. He advised the board that the county committee would like a financial <br /> commitment from the town to enable the con~mittee to continue plans for a county <br /> animal control department. The board directed the Clerk to advise the county <br /> conm~ittee that the town will financially commit to a county animal control department <br /> with an exact dollar amount to be determined later in the year. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald to approve the bills and claims. Trustee <br /> Edwards second. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Mooresville Board of Trustees <br /> at this time motion was made by Trustee Heald to adjourn. Trustee Edwards second. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
