<br />I <br /> <br />216. All joints and connections shall be made gastight and <br />watertight, and as governed by the Indiana Uniform Plumbing <br />Code in effect as of the date of adoption of this Ordinance, <br />and any provisions thereof which may be amendatory thereof or <br />supplemental thereto from time to time hereafter. <br /> <br />216.1 <br /> <br />216.2 <br /> <br />216.3 <br /> <br />216.4 <br /> <br />216 . 5 <br /> <br />Joints in vitrified clay pipe and fittings shall be <br />O-ring type compression joint. Joints shall meet <br />or exceed all requirements of ASTM Designation C- <br />425, latest revision. <br /> <br />Joints on PVC plpe and fittings shall be the <br />integral bell gasketed joint type and shall comply <br />with all physical requirements of ASTM Designations <br />D-3212 latest revision. <br /> <br />Joints on ABS pipe and fittings shall be the <br />solvent weld type conforming to all requirements of <br />ASTM Designation D-2564 latest revision. <br /> <br />Joints on ductile iron and cast iron pipe shall be <br />the push-on type conforming to AWWA Designation C- <br />151, latest revision. Fittings shall be cast iron <br />and shall comply with ANSI Specification A21.10, <br />latest revision, with push-on or mechanical <br />joints. <br /> <br />Other jointing materials and methods may be used <br />only upon the approval of the Sewer Inspector. <br /> <br />217. The connection of the building sewer into the public sewer <br />shall be made at the "Y" branch or "Tee" connection, if such <br />branch is available at a suitable location, If the public <br />sewer does not have a properly located "Y" branch or "tee" <br />connection, the owner shall at his expense install an <br />approved tapping saddle in the public sewer at the location <br />specified by the Sewer Inspector. The tapping saddle shall <br />be installed In a neatly tapped hole cut into the public <br />sewer; said connection between the tapping saddle and public <br />sewer shall be secured by the use of epoxy compound or other <br />approved sealant. The centerline of the building sewer at <br />the tapping saddle shall be at or above the centerline of the <br />public sewer but not in the top. A smooth, neat joint shall <br />be made and the connection made secure and watertight. <br />Special fittings may be used for the connection only when <br />approved by the Sewer Inspector. <br /> <br />218. The applicant for the building sewer permit shall notify the <br />Inspector 24 hours in advance of when the building sewer is <br />ready for inspection and connection to the public sewer, The <br />connection shall be made under the supervision of the <br />Inspector or his representative. <br /> <br />219. All excavations for building sewer installation shall be <br />adequately guarded with barricades and lights so as to <br />protect the public from hazard. Streets, sidewalks, <br />parkways, and other public property disturbed in the course <br />of the work shall be restored in a manner satisfactory to the <br />Town. <br /> <br />220. Any connection made contrary to the provisions of this <br />article shall be removed when required by the Town Council . <br /> <br />221. No proposed connection or inlet shall be permitted if, in the <br />opinion of the Town Council , such inlet and connection would <br />overburden such sewer. <br /> <br />222. Storm water and any other unpolluted drainage shall be <br />discharged to such sewers as are specifically designated as <br />storm sewers, or to a natural outlet approved by the <br />Superintendent.
