<br />pollution control Law of the State of Indiana. Plans and <br />specifications for proposed public or district sewage or <br />other waste treatment and dis~osal facilities must be <br />approved by the Stream pollut~on control Board of the state <br />of Indiana, except when connecting to city sewers. <br /> <br />J. off Street Parking <br /> <br />----------------------- <br /> <br />1. To reduce traffic problems and hazards by <br />eliminating unnecessary on-street parking, every use of land <br />must include on-premises parking sufficient for the needs <br />normally generated by the use, as provided by this section. <br />parking spaces or bays conti9uous to the street, required by <br />the subdivision or other ord~nances, are in addition to and <br />not in place of the spaces herein required. <br /> <br />2. As used in this section, the term "parking space" <br />means an area, not including any part of a street or alley, <br />designed or used for the temporary parking of motor vehicles. <br />The term "parking area" means a group of parking spaces, or <br />an open area, not including any part of a street or alley, <br />designed or used for the temporary parking of motor vehicles. <br /> <br />3. parking spaces shall be as provided in Table 4. <br /> <br />4. Each of the parking spaces required by this section <br />must be at least 9 feet wide and 20 feet long, exclusive of <br />pedestrian passageways. <br /> <br />5. The parking spaces prescribed by this section for a <br />business or an industrial use must be located on the <br />premises. <br /> <br />6. open parking areas for business uses must be paved <br />with a hard or dust proof surface. <br /> <br />7. A ~oup of business or industrial uses may provide <br />a joint park~ng area if the number of spaces in the area at <br />least equals the aggregate of the spaces required for the <br />several uses. <br /> <br />8. All areas shall be surfaced, striped, and <br />channelized as required br the commission and shall be <br />maintained in good condit~on. parking stalls shall be marked <br />and the access lanes shall be clearly defined, including <br />directional arrows to guide internal movements. All parking <br />lots and loading areas shall be suitably graded, surfaced, <br />and drained in accordance with the standards approved br the <br />commission. Wheel stops, marked off spaces, and direct~onal <br />signs, where necessary, shall be required. Adequate fire <br />lanes and emergency access shall be provided. <br /> <br />38 <br />
