October 2, 2001 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on <br /> Tuesday, October 2, 2001, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville <br /> Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were: President Tom Warthen, Andy <br />· Pygman, Toby Dolen, John L. Clark, and Mark Mathis. No <br />~ members were absent. Town attorney Tim Currens was present <br />i ' <br /> Larry Floy from the First Baptist Churchiin Mooresville <br /> <br /> gave the prayer. <br /> <br /> Erin Frew-Revitalization Committee -requested closing of East <br /> Main Street from Indiana to Clay Street on December 1, 2001 <br /> for Victorian Christmas. Closing would be from 8:00 A. m. <br /> to 5:00 P. M. She also requested an area around the Town Hall <br /> parking lot to load and unload the horse carriage. She <br /> requested orange cones to mark off the area~and to mark off the <br /> area where the shuttle bus will load and unload performers <br /> at North Indiana and West Main. Street.Motion was made by' <br /> Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve the <br /> requests. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Public Hearing for additional appropriation for Local Roads <br /> and Streets: No comments from the floor and no comments from <br /> the council. Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by <br /> Councilman Pygman to approve an additional appropriation of <br /> $89,500.00 from Local Roads and Streets to purchase a street <br /> sweeper. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Ross Holloway of Holloway and Associates presented a rezone <br /> request from Agriculture to PUD-R for property located at <br /> Landersdale and Hadley Road owned by the SHEA Corp. Homes are <br /> 10 feet apart. This is a retirement condo community. Every- <br /> thing outside the units are maintained by the association. <br /> The community has two accesses, the streets are in a maze <br /> effect, and is an isolated atmosphere. Mr. Holloway told the <br /> council you cant't discriminate in the covenants and restrictions <br /> on a 55 and older rule, but the product will be priced so as <br /> not to be appealing to under 55. Motion was made by Councilman <br /> D~len, second by CouncilmanC¢lark to approve Ordinance ~8,2001 <br /> to rezone Agriculture to PUD-R. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made to approve a Transfer of Funds Resolution::~by <br /> Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Clark. Motion carried <br /> 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion Was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman <br /> Pygman to approve a resolution appointing a signatory to <br /> execute all documents towards the purchase of the Methodist <br /> Church(pending environmental study). Motion carried 4-0. <br /> Mark Mathis abstained. <br /> <br /> Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported fourteen (14) <br /> calls, five (5) impounds, and zero (0) returns.. <br /> <br /> Councilmay Pygman told the council he had two constituents <br /> that had told him they would donate $100,000.00 in cash to <br /> put toward the remodeling of the Methodist Church. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman <br /> Clark to approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second-by Councilman <br /> Clark to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> <br />
