,55 0 ^pa <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at <br /> 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> Council members present were: President Tom Warthen, Andy Pygman, John L. Clark, <br /> and Mark Mathis. Councilman Toby Dolen was absent. Town attorney Tim Currens was <br /> present. <br /> Randall Gaffing from the Mooresville Church of Nazarene gave the invocation. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman Clark to approve the <br /> minutes of the April 2, 2002 meeting. Motion carded 4-0. <br /> James Hastings requested to hook on to the wastewater at 12013 North Rooker Road. <br /> His is the first house north of Rooker Trace and the wastewater line runs on the south <br /> side of property and across the street. He told the council he had lived there since the <br /> 1960's and the septic needs replaced. Councilman Mathis asked Joe Beikman, Street <br /> Superintendent, if he saw a problem with the hook-on and if Mr. Hastings could be <br /> annexed into the town immediately. Mr. Beikman did not see a problem with the hook-on <br /> and Mr. Hastings said he would approve being annexed. Motion was made by <br /> Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Clark to approve the hook on to the <br /> wastewater, subject to a copy of his request to be annexed prior to digging. Motion <br /> carried 4-0. Mr. Hastings will provide a legal description of his property to Tim Currens. <br /> Next on the agenda, Holloway and Associates request for an amendment to the offsite <br /> sewer construction agreement for Shae Corporation. The change is the addition of 200 to <br /> 250 feet south of the line previously proposed adding an additional cost of $23,317.00 to <br /> the original bid of $361,570.00. The amendment is required to lower the sanitary sewer <br /> in order to service, by gravity, an additional approximately 200 foot wide strip on the <br /> Turley property. Town attorney Tim Currens told the council if the north side of Hadley <br /> Road was used there'would be a disruption to yards, trees and driveways already there. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Pygman to approve the <br /> amendment. Motion can'ied 4-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Pygman to approve the <br /> update agreement concerning wastewater rates with Umbaugh and Associates for a price <br /> of not more than $3,500. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Clark to approve a <br /> resolution from Public Employee's Retirement Fund to add a new position of Economic <br /> Development Administrative Assistant. Motion carded 4-0. Resolution was signed. <br /> Les Farmer, l:rtre Chief, reported to the council the new pick up track had been delivered. <br /> He also has given the disaster plan to commissioners and it will pwbably be discussed at <br /> the next meeting. <br /> WWTP: Dan Tingle, Wastewater Department Head, was not able to attend the meeting. <br /> He sent his requests with Councilman Pygman. One request was for a new automatic <br /> switch for the throwover generator. Motion was made by Councilman Pygnmn, second ~'~ <br /> by Councilman Mathis to approve $6,582.00 Pollard Electric switch andinstallation ~ <br /> using Onnmins as a vendor. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> The other request was for a new pick up track. The council decided to move this to the <br /> May 7, 2002 agenda and requested Dan Tingle' s presence at that meeting. <br /> Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported twenty-four (24) calls, five (5) impounds, <br /> and four (4) returned. <br /> <br /> <br />
