Public comment from Paul Bryant: He told the council he understood several businesses <br />were closing because of J-2. He thought the Town of Mooresville should solicit money <br />to help these businesses possibly in an injunction/Public Nuisance lawsuit He asked if <br />the Economic Development Department could help. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br />payment of the claims. Motion carded 5-0. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time, a motion was <br />made by Cou[1.' ~:ilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />The next scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council is Tuesday, June 4, 2002, <br />at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> War(hen, 'President <br /> <br /> June 4, 2002 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at 6:30 <br />P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />Council members present were~; President Tom Warthen, John L. Clark, Toby Dolen, and <br />Mark Mathis. Councilman Pygman was absent. Town attorney Tim Currens was <br />present. <br /> <br />The invocation was given by Jim Taylor from the Grace Missionary Church. <br /> <br />There were no minutes to approve. <br /> <br />New Business: <br /> <br />Terry Burnside requesting a speed bump in the alley that runs from Indiana to. Clay Street <br />did not appear. <br /> <br /> Beverly Fox, appeared before the council requesting to hook on to the sanitation lines at <br /> 5812 Landersdale Road and 5804 Landersdale Road. These homes are located across <br /> from the second entrance into Collett Acres. They agree to annexation. Motion was <br /> made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve the request and <br /> move forward with the annexation. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> <br /> David Rihm was not present for the meeting. The Mooresville Optimist Club are <br /> requesting approval for continued use of the building at the Old Methodist Church <br /> parking lot for storage of newspapers. Councilman Mathis told the council he thought <br /> the Town could find someplace to relocate the building. <br /> <br /> Legal: <br /> <br /> Town attorney Tim Currens gave the council members copies of the Special Exception <br /> Procedures for addressing the issue of nightclubs. His thought was to move the use of a <br /> nightclub into B-3 by Special Exception Only. He wants the council to review and study <br /> and discuss at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
