October 1, 1991 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was held Tuesday, <br /> October 1, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Pat Overholser, Steve Ballard and Dick Heald. <br /> Council members absent were Jack Forbes and Steve Edwards. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> A representative of Metro Publishing addressed the Council in regard to pub- <br /> lishing a telephone directory for the Town of Mooresville. The company asked the <br /> Council to write an introductory letter for the telephone publication. The Council <br /> decided they would not write a letter of endorsement for the company. <br /> <br /> Ordinance #17-1991 An Ordinance Regulating Recycling was read by title for <br /> the first reading and will be'~ acted~ on at the next regular Council meeting. <br /> <br /> Town Attorney Tim Currens advised the Council that a survey of the property <br /> at 126 South Jefferson Street has shown that a garage encroaches on the town <br /> right of way. The town attorney will notify the property owners that the town is <br /> aware of this situation and sees no problem in this matter at the present time. <br /> <br /> Kendrick hospital has contacted the town attorney and advised Mr. Currens <br /> that the hospital is interested in entering into financing which will require <br /> the town to initiate a hospital authority. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser and second by Councilman Ballard to <br /> have town attorney Tim Currens initiate the process of developing a hospital <br /> authority. Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Ballard and second by Councilwoman Overholser <br /> to approve a settlement in the amount of $7,435.80 from Miller's Merry Manor in <br /> regard to a disputed sewer bill. Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Ballard and second by Councilwoman Overholser to <br /> accept $1,000.00 bid for the aerial fire truck from Mrs. Perry. <br /> Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser and second by Councilman Ballard <br /> to accept a fire hydrant at North Indiana Street and County Line Road for billing <br /> from Hoosier Water. Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> Street Superintendent Joe Beikman informed the Council that the town will <br />contact curbside leaf pickups this fall. The town has one quote for this service <br />and will seek two additional quotes. The schedule for leaf pickup will be handled <br />by Mr. Beikman. <br /> <br /> Economic Development Director Randy Haymaker advised the Council that the south <br />side sewer extension project began today. <br /> <br /> Mr. Haymaker also advised the Council that the residents of Sycamore Estates in <br />Hendricks County, have asked if it would be possible for them to hook-on to the <br />Mooresville sewer system. The Council took no action on this request at this time. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Abbott, town engineer, advised the Council that the plan co~mission <br />will have a work session Thursday, October 10, 1991 at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Town attorney Tim Currens advised Clerk-Treasurer Ann Whaley that the site <br />for the recycling bins on the north end of the municipal parking lot would be in <br />violation of restrictive covenants which exist on that piece of property. In <br />view of that situation the town's recycling project will have to seek a new <br />location for the recycling bins. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Ballard and second by Councilwoman Overholser <br />to pay the bills and claims. Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council at this time <br />motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser to adjourn and second by Councilman <br />Ballard. Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> <br />
